Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a fast charger and some tough cables for the new Pixel 8a because honestly I'm so confused by all the PPS and PD 3.0 talk online? I'm finally upgrading from my old Pixel 4a which I love but the battery is basically a potato now and it takes like three hours to get a full charge which is just not gonna work for me anymore. I did some digging and saw people mentioning the Anker Nano 30W but then I read a few threads saying some cables dont actually support the full speed or they dont trigger the "charging rapidly" text on the screen and tbh I just want something that works every time without me having to double check it. I checked the official Google one too but it feels kinda overpriced for just a brick? My budget is flexible but I dont wanna waste money on stuff that doesnt actually charge any faster than my old 5W blocks. Also I need cables that wont fray in a week because my cat thinks they are snacks lol. Is it worth getting a 45W brick or is that just overkill for the 8a? Just want to make sure I get the right kit so I dont ruin the battery life on day one...

I’m finally making the jump from my old Pixel 8 Pro to the 10 Pro XL—mostly because the 8 Pro was starting to feel like a space heater whenever I put it on a wireless pad. I’m a big camera guy and the battery on the 10 Pro XL is huge, so I really want to make sure I’m actually hitting the peak wireless speeds without the thing thermal throttling halfway through.

I've been looking around and honestly, it’s a bit of a mess. I checked out the official Google Stand (Gen 2), but some threads say it hasn't been updated to really leverage the 10's newer charging profile (plus that fan can get pretty loud at night). I also looked into some of the newer Qi2 pucks from Anker, but I’m seeing conflicting info on whether the 10 Pro XL actually uses the magnetic alignment for full speed or if it just falls back to basic 15W EPP.

Needs to be fast (obviously)

Budget is around $80-100 max

Desk-friendly (not a huge fan of the lay-flat pads)

Doesn't cook the battery

Actually, I forgot to mention—I usually keep a thinner case on my phones, so it needs to be able to push through that. Does anyone know if there's a specific 3rd party stand that actually hits the 23W+ mark, or are we still stuck with the Google proprietary stuff for the best performance?

Upgrading from a Pixel 7 Pro. That phone was already pushing it for pocketability. My main pain point was the bulk after adding a rugged case. It felt like a brick. Now I'm moving to the 9 Pro Fold. I'm worried about the footprint. I need this setup to stay as thin as possible. Foldables are notoriously hard to case properly. I’ve been through dozens of cases over the years for different devices. I know the basics of TPU vs polycarbonate. But this hinge mechanism is a new variable for me. I don’t want a case that adds 5mm to the width or makes it impossible to use the outer screen comfortably. I also really hate those cheap adhesive strips companies use to keep the front frame from sliding off. They always get gunked up or fail after a month of use.

Key priorities are size and camera protection. The camera bar on the 9 Pro Fold is massive. I need a lip that actually protects the glass without being huge. For the screens, I'm looking for a tempered glass option for the outer display. It needs to be case-friendly so it doesn't lift at the corners. I've seen some protectors that don't cover the edges well and it drives me crazy. The inner screen is a different story. Does it even need a third-party protector or should I stick with the factory one? Budget isn't a huge issue for me. I just want top-tier quality. I've looked at the official Google cases and the Bellroy leather ones. They seem okay but maybe too thick. I was thinking about something in aramid fiber or maybe a super thin Pitaka-style shell. I need something that handles a basic drop but keeps the phone feeling like a phone. What are the best slim cases and screen protectors for the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold?

I've been reading up and saw the Google Stand 2 mentioned a lot (apparently it's the only one that hits 23W?) but then I saw Anker pads on Amazon that claim to be "fast" but maybe they aren't fast for this phone? My logic was that any Qi charger works, but then I read about "EPP" and now I'm just anxious I'll buy the wrong thing. I've got maybe $70 to spend. I really just want speed without cooking the battery. Is the official one the only real option for full speed?

Finally upgraded to the Pixel 10 Pro XL and honestly im terrified of dropping it since its so huge. I spent way too much money on this thing and my last phone ended up with a massive spiderweb crack across the front after a week. I was looking at those Whitestone Dome ones because everyone on Reddit says they are the gold standard but man that installation process with the UV light looks like a nightmare and I just know I'd mess it up and end up with bubbles everywhere. Then I saw the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit which looks way easier to put on but some reviews say it chips easily around the edges if you carry it in a pocket with keys which I do constantly since I work on-site at construction jobs around Portland.

My logic was that I need something super thick for impact protection but then I read that thicker glass can mess with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which would drive me crazy. Im willing to spend up to like 50 bucks if it actually works and I need to get it ordered by Friday before I head out on a hiking trip. Anyone have experience with a brand that actually survives real world abuse without peeling off after two weeks? I just want something that feels like the actual screen but wont shatter the first time I fumble it on a gravel path...

Im trying to get my gear sorted before a backpacking trip through Europe in three weeks and the info online is all over the place. I saw people on Reddit saying I have to buy the official Google 30W plug for the fastest speeds but then some tech blogs say any PD 3.0 PPS charger works just fine. Its kinda confusing because I see these 65W Anker blocks and I dont know if theyll actually charge faster or if its just a waste of money for this specific phone.
