Looking for the best smartphone for photography. Budget is $800. Which phones offer the best camera quality and features in that price range?

Honestly, if you're looking for the best bang-for-buck in mobile photography right now, you really have to focus on the balance between sensor size and computational processing. Since your budget is $800, you have some killer options that'll give you pro-level results without needing a separate bag for gear. - Google Pixel 8 Pro: This is basically the king of high dynamic range (HDR). You can often find it on sale for exactly $799. The way Google handles skin tones and low-light noise with their Tensor ISP is pretty much the industry standard for point-and-shoot reliability.
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Since the newer model is out, you can easily find a mint-condition or refurbished S23 Ultra under $800. It features a massive 200MP main sensor and 10x optical zoom which is unbeatable for framing shots from a distance. The RAW output options are great for post-processing too.
- Xiaomi+14&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Xiaomi 14: If you're open to imports, this device features Leica optics and a 1/1.31" Light Fusion 900 sensor. The natural bokeh you get from a sensor that size is incredible, right? Anyway, if you want the most realistic colors, go Pixel. If you want versatility and zoom, grab the Samsung. You can't really go wrong with either at that price point, you know?

Hey! Ditch the phone-camera hype! Seriously consider a used Sony RX100 (any version)! I grabbed a Mark IV for $600, and the 1" sensor blows away *any* smartphone. Photos are incredible! Plus, you avoid the distraction of social media WHILE driving! Seriously, consider talking to a professional photographer before you spend money on a phone-camera, you will thank me! Be safe!
