Hey! Looking for a car mount for my upcoming Google Pixel 9a. Anyone got recommendations that work well? Ideally something sturdy for longer drives. Budget is around $30. Thanks!

Came here to say the same thing lol. Great minds think alike I guess.

Tbh I’ve been going down a rabbit hole trying to find the perfect mount for when I get the 9a. I’m still pretty new to the whole Pixel ecosystem, but I’ve been comparing specs on different clamping styles (like the 17mm ball joints and stuff). Basically, I’ve used two main ones for over a year now and they both have trade-offs. - iOttie Easy One Touch 5: This thing is a tank. Pros: The telescopic arm is great for reaching closer to you. Cons: The 'Sticky Gel' is almost *too* sticky... it took some serious effort to get off my dash and left a bit of a mark (at least thats what happened to me).
- Lamicall Car Vent Mount: It has a metal hook instead of just a plastic clip. Pros: Doesn't sag over time like the cheaper ones. Cons: It blocks the air vent (does the 9a overheat easily? I'm not really sure yet). I’m still learning about the weight distribution on these phones, but I think a physical clamp is safer than magnets if youre driving long distances. TL;DR: iOttie if you want it rock solid on the dash, Lamicall if your worried about your dash surface and prefer a vent mount that actually stays tightened.

I'm happy with my Scosche MagicMount. About $20, and it hasn't fallen off yet!

Wireless charging mounts are amazing! Check magnetic strength specs; ProClip offers robust options, but pricey.

Skip the fancy mounts! I've had zero issues with a basic Scosche MagicMount ($15). Strong magnet, holds my phone perfectly, even on bumpy roads. Happy with the value!

Hey! For safety, consider ProClip USA. Pricey, but rock-solid. I've seen cheaper mounts fail during sudden stops; not worth the risk to your 9a or, worse, you!

From market research, Scosche mounts are popular, but I've had issues with their adhesive failing in summer heat. At $30, you're mostly looking at entry-level options. Consider that cheaper mounts might damage your vent over time, making a slightly pricier, ventless option a better long-term value.
