Its so frustrating when the hardware specs dont justify the price volatility. I recently looked at:

  • Instant Vortex Plus: 1700W, 6-in-1, great airflow but noisy fans
  • Ninja Foodi: 1550W, ceramic coating, smaller capacity Losing 35 bucks on a 120 purchase is a huge percentage of the total MSRP. Really annoying when you buy based on technical value and then the floor drops out like that... hate it.

Amazon doesn't refund differences anymore.

  • Return it
  • Re-buy cheaper honestly just install Price Drop Catch, it does exactly this — one-click tracking and browser notifications when the price hits your target

Ugh, that 35 dollar difference is huge when you're moving!! I totally feel your pain because I literally did the same thing with a Ninja Foodi last year. Paid full price and then boom... 40 bucks off the next day. I was so mad! Honestly, it feels like a personal attack when that happens lol. Since Amazon stopped their official price protection years ago, I had to get creative. Basically, I called their customer service and spent like 20 minutes on chat. Sometimes you get a super nice rep who will give you a one-time exception promotional credit, but it's totally a coin flip these days. If that doesn't work, I always just order the new cheaper one first, then return the expensive one using the found a better price option. Just make sure the shipping back is free or it might eat into your savings! I love a good loophole, even if it takes a bit of extra work. Also, check if your credit card has Price Protection as a benefit! Most moved away from it lately, but some premium cards still do it. I used it for a TV once and got 150 back, it was amazing! If you want to avoid this headache next time, you should definitely check out Price Drop Catch. It saved me so much stress on my last kitchen haul because it just alerts you immediately. It's fantastic! TL;DR: Amazon wont just hand you the cash anymore. You gotta either hustle the chat support for a credit or do the buy new and return old dance to get that money for your boxes.
