Is there a way to share my Amazon shopping cart with someone else?

so basically im trying to help out this local animal rescue near me in Austin and they gave me a budget of about 800 dollars to get some new supplies and office stuff for their back room. i spent all morning picking out the perfect stuff like - heavy duty printers - boxes of paper - those fancy ergonomic chairs and some cleaning supplies too.

heres the problem though... i have everything sitting in my amazon cart right now and i have no clue how to actually get the list to the lady who runs the place so she can pay for it. i thought there would be like a big share button or something but i cant find anything and im starting to feel pretty stupid lol. i dont want to just buy it and have them pay me back because i dont have that much money in my bank account right now and they have the official organization card anyway.

ive been looking all over the screen for like ten minutes. i tried clicking the cart icon and looking for a link but nothing. do i have to make a separate list? or is there a way to just send the whole cart over in one go? im really bad with technology so sorry if this is like a super basic thing that everyone knows. i really have no idea where to start with this stuff.

my main goals for this are:

  • it has to be free to use
  • i really dont want to share my personal login or password with her for obvious reasons
  • it needs to show the exact items and quantities i picked out
  • i need to do this by tomorrow morning because she wants to place the order before the weekend

is there an app for this? or like a hidden setting somewhere in the account? i tried googling it but all the results were about business accounts and prime sharing and stuff like that which just made me more confused. maybe i could just take a screenshot but that seems really clunky since shed have to find every single item herself. if anyone has a better way to do this please let me know...

Honestly, Amazon is kinda weird about this because they really want you to be the one hitting the buy button. I ran into this exact same mess last year when I was helping my sisters preschool get some new rugs and craft supplies. I spent like three hours picking out these specific markers and heavy-duty storage bins, just to realize there is no magic share button for the cart. It is super frustrating, right? I would suggest you stop looking for a cart link because it just doesnt exist. What you might want to consider doing is moving everything to a Wish List instead. Be careful though, because if you just add them to a list from the product page, you might end up with different quantities than what you have in your cart. I made that mistake once and the school ended up with way more stuff than they asked for... it was a whole thing. It took forever to get the refund processed. The safest way is to go into your cart and click Move to list for every single item. Once you have them all in a list, make sure to set the privacy to Shared or Public, otherwise the lady at the rescue wont be able to see anything when you send the link. Just hit the Invite button on the list page and send her the view-only link. It is basically the only free way to do it without handing over your password, which you definitely should never do. Just double check the quantities on the list before you send it over tho. Oh, and if you really want to make it easy, tell her she can just click add all to cart from her end once she opens the link you sent.

Re: "Honestly, Amazon is kinda weird about this because..."

  • Spot on! Try a Wish List!
  • Move items
  • Send link I use Cart to Link to generate a link and share it.

Just saw this. Unfortunately, the native Amazon options are pretty disappointing. I had issues coordinating a large order for a community center recently and it was not as efficient as I expected.

  • Wish Lists: Secure but incredibly tedious for large quantities.
  • Share-A-Cart: Much faster for bulk transfers but requires an extension. Given your deadline, the extension is likely your best bet.

Totally agree with ydniueslwd here. Tbh, Amazons built-in sharing features are basically designed for consumer gifts, not for any kind of serious logistical work or office procurement. Over the years, ive tried doing this manually and it always breaks. In my experience, trying to manage a big hardware buy for a lab setup using only the native Wish List tool was a total nightmare. It just doesnt track the exact seller or quantities correctly when you move stuff from the cart to a list. I ended up with duplicate items and missed some specific components entirely. I finally started using Share-A-Cart because it actually captures the cart state data properly. It is way more reliable than just taking screenshots or sending links one by one. If youre dealing with specific office gear like those ergonomic chairs, you really need the exact SKU and quantity to carry over or shes gonna end up buying the wrong version by mistake.

Lol I was literally about to post the same thing. Glad someone else brought it up.

TL;DR: Use a cart-sharing extension since native lists mess up quantities. Building on the earlier suggestion, extensions are definitely the way to go for high-value orders like this. I have been managing long-term gear lists for a couple of local groups and Amazons own list features always seem to glitch out on the specific item counts or sellers when you try to transfer them. Extensions just grab the whole cart state as is. One thing i gotta ask... are you doing this on a desktop browser or a mobile app? Most of these tools only work on Chrome or Firefox. Also, does she need to see the tax and shipping breakdown before she pays, or just the item list? It's worth checking out PriceDropCatch if you do a lot of shopping at Office Depot; it's just a simple extension.

^ This. Also, if you want something that just works every single time without any glitches, you seriously gotta use Share-A-Cart. It is amazing for exactly what you are doing with the animal rescue! I have used it for years to coordinate office buys and it has never let me down once. Basically, you just install the extension, click one button while you are looking at your cart, and it gives you a simple code to send over to the lady. She just enters that code on her end and—boom—every single thing you picked out pops right into her cart with the exact quantities. It is totally free and super secure since you never touch her login and she never touches yours. Honestly, skip the wish list stuff because that takes way too long when you have a bunch of different items like printers and chairs. This is the only way to go if you are on a deadline for tomorrow morning! Good luck with the rescue stuff, that is such a cool thing to do for them.
