What are the most essential MagSafe chargers and accessories I actually need for a new iPhone 15 Pro because I am totally lost with all these new magnets?

Sorry if this is a really dumb question but I havent bought a new phone since my iPhone 7 years ago and everything feels like it changed overnight. I went to the store and saw all these circular things on the back of cases and the salesperson kept talking about MagSafe but I was too embarrassed to say I had no clue what that actually meant. Do I actually need a special magnetic charger or can I just use a regular cord like I used to do?

I am trying to get a good setup before I go on a trip to Chicago next month to see my family and I really dont want my battery dying while I am trying to use Google Maps in the city. My budget is around $150 for everything which I hope is enough to get the basics. I am especially confused about cases. Do I need a specific MagSafe case for the magnets to work or will any plastic case from the mall work? I saw some wallets that stick to the back too but that seems kinda risky if it just falls off while I am walking around or getting on the train.

Also I heard the iPhone 15 uses a different cable now so my old square power bricks are probably useless now right? I was looking at some stands for my nightstand that can charge the phone and my apple watch together but there are so many brands like Anker and Belkin and I dont know if the cheap ones are safe for the battery or if I should just stick to the expensive Apple stuff.

• a simple wall plug that actually fits the new wire
• a car mount or something for my trip
• maybe a portable battery thing if those exist for the magnets?

I just want to make sure I am not buying stuff I dont need but I also dont want to be stuck with a dead phone in a city I dont know or have to carry a bunch of tangly wires in my purse...
