Hey! iPhone 13 Pro Max is a beast, and I need a solid vent mount for my car. Tired of holders that wobble or drop the phone. Anyone have experience with vent mounts that REALLY hold the 13 Pro Max securely? Aiming for something reliable, maybe under $30. What's the best vent mount you've found that actually works?
@gkzxnftyll - good point! Honestly, those screw-down hook designs are the only ones that actually make sense for the weight of a Pro Max. Ive seen way too many people rely on those basic tension clips just to have their phone end up in the footwell after the first big bump they hit. Reminds me of my buddy Dave who tried to DIY a mount for his road trip a few years back.
I'm pretty new to all this tech stuff, but I’ve been using a mount with a metal hook design for about six months now and it hasn’t budged at all. Most of the clip-on ones just slide right off because of the weight, but the LISEN Magnetic Phone Holder for Car actually hooks onto the back of the vent blade and you screw it down until it's tight. Tbh, I was really worried the 13 Pro Max would be way too heavy and just snap the vent, but it’s stayed pretty solid even when I'm driving on bumpy backroads. I think it was only like 20 or 25 dollars on Amazon? It comes with those metal rings you stick on your case. I'm not 100% sure if the magnet is super strong enough if you go off-roading, but for daily driving it's been great. Just maybe check your vent shape first? I don't think the hook works if you have those round, circular vents, but for standard ones it's basically been a lifesaver for me.
I've had good luck with ProClip USA vent mounts. They're pricier at $70, but rock-solid. Be careful installing; vents can be fragile. Make sure it's compatible with the Pro Max before ordering!
Vent clips fail eventually! Consider a magnetic CD slot mount; $25, rock solid.
Forget vents! ProClip dash mounts are safer. Rock solid, but ~$60. Worth it for peace of mind!
Skip the vent mount. A cheap friction dash mount from Amazon works surprisingly well.
Unfortunately, most <$30 vent mounts struggle with the Max's weight. I've had issues with Scosche; the rubber grips degrade quickly. Might need to bump up your budget, honestly.
