I just upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro and noticed it doesn't come with a power brick. I really want to take advantage of the fastest charging speeds possible without damaging the battery long-term. Should I stick with the official Apple 20W plug, or are there better third-party GaN chargers that handle the USB-C transition better? What wattage are you guys using for the quickest top-offs?

Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year and honestly, I was *so* disappointed with the official 20W plug. It felt sluggish for the 15 Pro's potential. I tried to save some cash and grabbed the Ugreen Nexode Pro 30W GaN Charger for around $15 on sale. It technically supports the full 27W handshake and stays way cooler than the Apple brick... plus it didnt break the bank. Worth looking into budget GaN options for sure!

Soo I've been thinking about your battery health concerns, and honestly, safety is everything when you're dropping over a grand on a phone! While the others mentioned some solid brands, if you want that absolute peace of mind with the fastest 27W charging, I highkey recommend the Satechi 30W USB-C GaN Wall Charger.

It's basically built for the USB-C transition and uses GaN tech, which is AMAZING cuz it stays way cooler than the old Apple bricks. Heat is what actually kills batteries long-term, so keeping things chill is a huge win!! Plus, Satechi is super reliable with their power delivery (PD) standards, so you wont get those weird voltage spikes that cheap generic plugs sometimes have.

Also, if you need extra ports for travels, the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Dual USB-C GaN Wall Charger with PPS 65W is a total beast. It uses Programmable Power Supply (PPS) to talk to your iPhone+and+give+it+exactly&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPhone and give it exactly the juice it needs without overdoing it. A bit pricier but worth it for the safety features alone... anyway, good luck with the new 15 Pro, it's a fantastic device! 👍

Honestly, just grab the Anker 511 Charger Nano 3 30W for like $20. It's way smaller than Apple's brick and basically maxes out the 15 Pro's 27W charging speed. I'm satisfied tho!

For your situation, I’ve found that switching to GaN is a total game changer!!

1. I ditched the slow official brick for a high-wattage GaN setup—it's AMAZING cuz it actually hits that 27W peak power delivery the 15 Pro needs.
2. Ngl, the thermal efficiency on the one I got is sooo much better... it stays cool which is way safer for long-term battery health tbh.

Def go GaN, it's worth it!! 👍

Totally agree that heat is the real enemy here!! Honestly, keeping the phone cool while it's topping off is way more important for battery longevity than the actual brand name on the brick. Since you're worried about long-term health, have you thought about your actual setup and where you'll be using it most? Like, are you looking for a tiny one-and-done travel plug, or are you trying to DIY a more permanent charging station at your desk where you can charge a few things at once? Tbh, I'm a big fan of the self-service approach—I just repurposed an old high-wattage laptop brick I had in a junk drawer and it works perfectly without me having to buy more gear. I think the phone is smart enough to just 'negotiate' the power it needs anyway? Just curious if you've checked what you already have in your tech stash before spending more money? It's way more cost-effective if you can just reuse stuff you already own, and it saves you from adding more plastic to the pile. What kind of budget are you reallyyy looking to stay under for this?
