Which fast chargers and car mounts work best with the iPhone 16?

I recently made the jump to the iPhone 16 after using an older model for nearly four years, and while the phone itself is incredible, my accessory game is definitely lacking. I noticed that my old 5W and 12W bricks take forever to juice up this new battery, and I really want to experience those fast charging speeds everyone is talking about. It is a bit confusing trying to figure out which combination of cables and bricks actually triggers the maximum charging rate without damaging the battery long-term.

From what I have gathered, the iPhone 16 can handle much faster wireless charging now, specifically up to 25W with the updated MagSafe charger. However, I am stuck on which power adapter to pair with it. Do I need a 30W brick, or should I go higher just to be safe? I am also looking for something that is travel-friendly and compact because I move around a lot for work and hate carrying bulky gear.

The car situation is even more pressing for me. My current mount is one of those old-school tension grips, and it feels like it is going to snap every time I put the phone in. I am looking for a MagSafe-compatible car mount that is sturdy enough for bumpy roads but also looks clean on the dashboard. I have seen some that plug into the vent and others that stick to the dash, but I am worried about the adhesive failing in the summer heat or the vent clips sagging under the weight of the phone during a long commute.

I am specifically looking for recommendations on:

  • A wall charger that actually supports the full 25W MagSafe output requirements
  • A car mount with a powerful magnet that won't drop the phone on speed bumps
  • Reliable brands that offer built-in cooling or won't overheat the device

I am really curious to see what setups you guys are using for your new devices. Are there any specific brands like Anker, Belkin, or even lesser-known ones that you have had great success with? I really want to get this right the first time so I can stop worrying about my battery levels. What fast chargers and car mounts are you finding work best with the iPhone 16?

Oh man, I totally feel u. I just upgraded too and those old 5W bricks are basically useless now lol. For your situation, I've been using a setup that works really well.

  • For the wall, I'd suggest the Anker 511 Nano 3 30W USB-C GaN Wall Charger. It's super tiny for travel and i think it puts out enough power to hit that 25W wireless speed.
  • In my car, I got the ESR MagSafe Car Mount with CryoBoost Fast Wireless Charging. Honestly, the built-in fan is a lifesaver cuz it stops the phone from getting hot while using GPS. It's really sturdy on bumps too!
  • To actually get 25W, you gotta use the Apple MagSafe Charger 1m USB-C Cable 2024 Model or it wont hit the max speed. I'm pretty happy with these and havent had any issues. Hope that helps ur search!!

I went through this too! I finally settled on the Ugreen Nexode 30W GaN Charger and ESR MagSafe Car Mount with CryoBoost... they've honestly kept my phone way cooler than expected, idk why.

Seconding the recommendation above! 30W is basically the sweet spot for that 25W output. Ngl, I am always worried about overheating the battery during fast charging, so I stick with Belkin BoostCharge Pro 30W USB-C GaN Wall Charger for peace of mind. For the car, check out:

I've been looking into this a ton since I got my 16. Brand choice really changes things for travel and heat management.

  • Apple is usually the safest bet but pricey.
  • Third-party brands like Anker or Ugreen are great for compact GaN tech.
  • Belkin is solid for magnets and Apple certification. To help narrow it down, I have a couple questions for you:
  • What is your actual budget for the whole setup?
  • Are you looking for a car mount that just holds the phone or one that actually charges it at the full 25W speed? Let me know what you're thinking and we can figure out the best setup!
