I just picked up the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and honestly, I’m a bit nervous about keeping that massive display pristine! It’s such a premium device, so I want to make sure I have solid protection from day one. I’m specifically looking for a high-quality tempered glass protector for the outer screen that won't interfere with my case edges or peel up. Also, is anyone actually adding a third-party protector to the inner folding screen, or is the factory-applied one enough? I’ve looked at a few options from brands like Spigen and Whitestone, but I’d love to hear what’s actually working for you guys in terms of clarity and touch sensitivity. What’s the best screen protector you’ve found so far for the Fold?

Seconding the recommendation above, but honestly adding my two cents because I've had some mixed results lately. While the Spigen is okay, I've unfortunately noticed it can sometimes have a bit of a 'halo' effect around the edges on the Fold's outer glass due to slight manufacturing tolerances... kinda disappointing for a $20 kit when you want perfection. If you're looking for better value or a tighter fit, here's how I see the current market: 1. amFilm OneTouch Glass Screen Protector for Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold 2 Pack: This is basically the best bang-for-your-buck. The alignment tool is just as good as the more expensive brands, but the glass actually feels a bit smoother to me. Plus, you get a spare for way less cash. 2. Caseology Snap Fit Screen Protector for Pixel 9 Pro Fold: This one is great because it's specifically designed to be 'case-friendly' with a slightly smaller footprint that wont get pushed up by rugged cases. 3. JETech Screen Protector for Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: If you're really on a budget, these are fine, but the oleophobic coating is pretty mid and will smudge like crazy after a month. Quick tip: Seriously, dont even think about a third-party protector for that inner screen!! The factory one is integral to the display's durability. Adding another layer adds thickness that can literally crack the panel when you close it... just not worth the risk. Stick to protecting the outer glass and you're golden. gl!

> While the Spigen is okay, I've unfortunately noticed it can sometimes have a bit of a 'halo' effect... Totally agree with the above! Ngl, keeping that screen safe is huge since it's so pricey. I'm actually using the dbrand Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Tempered Glass Screen Protector and it basically fits perfectly without that annoying halo. If ur looking for maximum safety, ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass Elite for Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also a solid bet for impact protection. Both feel way safer than the super cheap ones tbh.

tbh I think the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Screen Protector for Pixel 9 Pro Fold is amazing? It's only $20 vs Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector for Pixel 9 Pro Fold at $50... best value choice!! seriously dont touch the inner protector tho!!

Pretty much agree with the last point—getting that perfect fit without the halo is basically the dream. I’d just add that the alignment tools are what really make or break it for me. But yeah, honestly, I’m curious about a couple of things before you decide: 1. Are you looking to do a DIY install at home or were you thinking about taking it somewhere to have a "pro" do it?
2. Also, what kind of case are you rocking? I’m still pretty new to this and I was super nervous about the dust and bubbles, so idk if you're in the same boat. Anyway, I’ve found that the kits with the plastic frames are a total lifesaver for beginners, but I’ve heard some people say the professional install is worth the extra cash for a device this expensive. Just curious what your comfort level is!

Did this last week, worked perfectly

Honestly, I have had a bit of a nightmare finding something that doesnt mess with the touch sampling rate on the outer display. I actually went through three different brands last week because I was noticing weird input lag during fast scrolling, which is just unacceptable on a phone this expensive. Unfortunately, some of the most popular glass options have poor light transmission specs too, which totally kills the HDR pop on that Actua display. I eventually landed on the Mous Screen Protector Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Hybrid Glass and it is mostly okay. It is thinner than standard tempered glass, which I prefer because it doesnt create that sharp ledge when you swipe from the side for back gestures. Just a heads up tho, I did some digging and found that the inner protector is literally integrated into the display stack. Trying to swap it for something like a third-party TPU film is a total recipe for disaster and will definitely void your warranty. Stick to the outer glass and leave the inside alone... learned that the hard way with an older Fold model.
