Hey everyone! I just picked up a Pixel 7a and I’m loving the phone so far, but I really need a solid pair of wireless earbuds to go with it. Since I just spent a chunk of change on the device, I’m looking for something budget-friendly—ideally under $75. I’ve been looking at the Pixel Buds A-Series, but I'm curious if there are third-party brands like Soundcore or EarFun that offer better value. I mostly care about a comfortable fit for my daily commute and decent battery life. It’d also be great if they support Google’s Fast Pair for that seamless connection. What are the best bang-for-your-buck earbuds that pair perfectly with the 7a?
> What are the best bang-for-your-buck earbuds? Similar situation here... over the years I've tried many but snagged Sony WF-C500 for $65 lately. They're super reliable and Fast Pair actually works great on my 7a, i think!!
tbh i had issues with some budget buds before, but for ur 7a i'd look at the EarFun Air Pro 3. they're pretty great value for $50ish. also the Jabra Elite 4 is a solid bet for fast pair. unfortunately, the pixel buds a mentioned earlier are okay but the lack of anc is a huge letdown for commuting... not as good as expected for the price. hope that helps!!
Curious about one thing: how loud is your commute? Honestly, in my experience, budget buds like Soundcore Liberty 4 NC often have seal issues. 1. Need ANC?
2. Is stability vital? just checking!
Ngl if youre really trying to stay under budget and want something reliable maybe check out the JLab Go Air Pop. Theyre super cheap and honestly sound decent enough for a commute. I also heard good things about the Tozo NC2 Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds if you need that ANC. Tbh i worry about these budget things though because you cant ever open them up to fix a loose wire or a dead battery... everything is just glued shut these days. It actually reminds me of my old toaster that stopped popping up last week. I took the whole thing apart on my kitchen table thinking it was a simple spring issue but it turns out the internal heating element was just fried beyond help. I had parts scattered everywhere for two days and my wife was so annoyed she just went out and bought a new one anyway lol. But yeah definitely check the sales on those Jlabs.
In my experience, honestly, i had sync issues with third-party brands... id be cautious.
- Get Google Pixel Buds A-Series
Basically, its the only safe bet for 7a Fast Pair stability!!
Just wanted to say thanks for everyone chiming in. Super helpful discussion.
Yeah I totally agree that the lack of ANC is a huge deal - honestly I’m a bit of a DIY nerd and I always try to look into how easy these things are to maintain myself but with the budget ones they’re usually glued together so tight that you can’t really fix anything if the battery goes bad or if the charging port gets finicky. Like I think it’s a major warning to keep in mind that most of these cheaper options are basically disposable - if an internal cable snaps or the mesh gets super gunked up you’re probably looking at buying a whole new pair since professional repair shops won’t even look at them for that price point? it’s kinda frustrating because even if they pair perfectly with the 7a now you might be back at square one in twelve months if you can’t service them at home... maybe check if there are any teardown videos online for the ones you’re eyeing just to see if they’re actually built to last?
Exactly what I was thinking
