Best car mount for the Google Pixel 9 Pro?

I just pre-ordered the Pixel 9 Pro and need a reliable mount for my daily commute. I'm specifically looking for something that won't interfere with the new camera bar design or the wireless charging coil. Does anyone have experience with a sturdy MagSafe-compatible or auto-clamping vent mount that works well with this model?

For your situation, I would suggest looking into some of the bigger brands like iOttie or maybe ESR because they usually handle the heavy lifting really well. Ngl, you gotta be reallyyy careful about the weight of that Pixel 9 Pro because it is definitely not a light phone, and cheap mounts will just sag immediately.

Technically speaking, the camera bar is actually kinda tricky because it sits so high up on the back. If you go with an auto-clamping style, make sure the "arms" are positioned low enough so they dont constantly squeeze the power button or the volume rocker. I have literally had mounts in the past that just kept restarting my phone because they clamped right on the buttons lol. So basically, look for a brand where the bottom feet are adjustable.

If you want the MagSafe route, just remember the Pixel doesn't have magnets built-in, so you'll need a specific case first. Honestly, you can't go wrong with basically any magnetic mount from Spigenโ€”they are usually super solid and cost-effective compared to the boutique brands. Just make sure to get a case where the magnetic ring is centered perfectly over the G logo, otherwise, the wireless charging might get really hot or just not work at all. It is a bit of a gamble with the coil alignment sometimes, so maybe check some teardown videos first? But yeah, sticking to the big names is usually the safest bet for ur daily commute. Good luck!! 👍

Quick question - are you planning to use a case with your new phone? Honestly, I'm a bit of a budget geek and found that some cheaper mounts like the LISEN Magsafe Car Mount Magnetic Phone Holder which is usually under $20 work fine, but only if your case has strong magnets. Safety is highkey my main concern cuz I dont want that heavy Pro model falling off while I'm driving! Are you looking for a dashboard or vent setup??

Honestly, I totally get the struggle with the Pixel 9 Pro because that camera bar is *huge* and can really mess with mount placement. I'm a bit of a specs nerd, and if you want to save some cash without sacrificing stability, I'd skip the premium brands and go with something more practical.

I've been super happy with the LISEN MagSafe Car Mount for Vent, which is basically a steal at around $20. It uses a hook-style clip that actually stays put, even on bumpy roads. Another solid budget option is the VICSEED Magnetic Phone Mount for Car, which has a really strong pull forceโ€”it hasn't dropped my phone once.

So yeah, my advice is:
* Go for a hook-style vent clip to handle the weight.
* Make sure you use a MagSafe-compatible case so it clears the charging coil.
* Stick to mounts with an adjustable ball joint to angle it away from the camera bar.

Works well for me and won't break the bank, right? gl!

In my experience, finding a mount that clears the new camera bar is tricky. I've wasted money on ones that blocked the lens or just felt flimsy, but honestly, Peak Design Mobile Car Mount - Magnetic & Wireless Charging is the way to go. It's expensive but literally indestructible and fits the Pixel's coil perfectly.

I honestly have to disagree with the idea that you need to go out and buy a brand new, expensive mount every time a phone with a weird camera bump comes out. I have been through so many iterations of this over the years and what I have learned is that the out of the box stuff usually fails because it tries to be a one size fits all solution for every phone. Basically, my current setup is a bit of a frankenstein monster but it works perfectly. I took the base of an old mount I already owned and used some heavy duty adhesive and a few plastic spacers I trimmed down myself to make sure the phone sits exactly where I want it. This way, the camera bar doesnt even touch the mount surface and I dont have to worry about it blocking the magnets or the charging coil. If youre even a little bit handy, I think building your own mount or modifying a cheap generic one is the way to go. It lets you account for the weight and the specific height of that camera bar without spending 50 bucks on something that might still sag after a month. It is a bit of a diy project but honestly it feels way more solid than anything I have bought recently.
