I just pre-ordered the Pixel 9 Pro XL and I am super nervous about dropping it! I need a rugged case that is MagSafe compatible and a screen protector that won't mess with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. I am considering Spigen or Mous, but what are you all using? Any specific combos that fit together perfectly?

Sooo, just found this thread. Just sharing my experience: I went through this exact same panic last year and honestly, I ended up wasting so much money on big brand names. Over the years, I've tried many different setups and basically realized you dont always need to drop $60 on a case. In my experience, I compared the Spigen Tough Armor MagFit Case for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL which is around $30, against the Ringke Onyx Magnetic Case for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL thats usually only $18. Honestly, the Ringke one had better grip for me and felt way less bulky. For the screen, I was realy worried about the sensor too, but the amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Pixel 9 Pro XL 2-Pack is like $10 and worked perfectly once I re-registered my fingerprints. Technically, the thinner glass helps the ultrasonic pulse pass through better, but I am still learning about all that. Definately saved me some cash and the MagSafe magnets were highkey just as strong. Anyway, good luck with the new phone!!

Ultrasonic tech uses sound, so glass thickness matters. Honestly, Mous Limitless 5.0 MagSafe Case for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL plus amFilm OneTouch Glass Screen Protector for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL worked for me!

I need a rugged case that is MagSafe compatible and a screen protector that won't mess with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. honestly i get being nervous... the xl is huge!! do u tend to drop ur phone on concrete alot or just inside? also whats your budget? personally i have used mous for the magsafe magnets cuz they are reallyyy strong but be careful with the screen protector. iirc some thick glass ones can be hit or miss with that sensor... basically just make sure it's certified for the ultrasonic one (some claim to be but arent)!! gl!

^ This. Also, be careful with the glass thickness like Juliette said. I would suggest the Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector for Pixel 9 Pro XL because it uses that liquid adhesive. It is a bit of a project to install, but it is the most reliable way to keep the fingerprint sensor working perfectly. For the case, you might want to consider the dbrand Grip Case for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. I have compared it to a few others and the magnets are super strong for MagSafe car mounts and stuff. Just keep in mind it adds some bulk, but honestly, with a phone this big, you need the extra grip anyway. Just make sure to follow the video instructions for the screen protector or you will waste 40 bucks.
