Upgrading from a Pixel 7 Pro. That phone was already pushing it for pocketability. My main pain point was the bulk after adding a rugged case. It felt like a brick. Now I'm moving to the 9 Pro Fold. I'm worried about the footprint. I need this setup to stay as thin as possible. Foldables are notoriously hard to case properly. I’ve been through dozens of cases over the years for different devices. I know the basics of TPU vs polycarbonate. But this hinge mechanism is a new variable for me. I don’t want a case that adds 5mm to the width or makes it impossible to use the outer screen comfortably. I also really hate those cheap adhesive strips companies use to keep the front frame from sliding off. They always get gunked up or fail after a month of use.

Key priorities are size and camera protection. The camera bar on the 9 Pro Fold is massive. I need a lip that actually protects the glass without being huge. For the screens, I'm looking for a tempered glass option for the outer display. It needs to be case-friendly so it doesn't lift at the corners. I've seen some protectors that don't cover the edges well and it drives me crazy. The inner screen is a different story. Does it even need a third-party protector or should I stick with the factory one? Budget isn't a huge issue for me. I just want top-tier quality. I've looked at the official Google cases and the Bellroy leather ones. They seem okay but maybe too thick. I was thinking about something in aramid fiber or maybe a super thin Pitaka-style shell. I need something that handles a basic drop but keeps the phone feeling like a phone. What are the best slim cases and screen protectors for the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold?
