Hey everyone! I just got a Pixel 6a and need a sturdy car mount. I’m debating between a vent clip or a dashboard suction mount, but I’m worried about the phone's size and my specific case. Does anyone have a recommendation that holds the 6a securely without blocking the charging port or side buttons?

In my experience, Ive actually had some bad luck with mounts... unfortunately. - iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Air Vent Mount: Simple to use, but it honestly broke my vent slats cuz the 6a is kinda heavy with a case.
- VICSEED Dashboard Car Phone Mount: Sturdy, but the adhesive ruined my dash, which was disappointing. I mean, maybe try a CD slot mount instead to keep those side buttons clear. gl!

Totally agree! Unfortunately, I've had issues with mounts before... - Miracase Universal Car Phone Mount: Sturdy/cheap
- Scosche MagicMount Magnetic Phone Holder: Sleek/weak Miracase wins for budget, right?

sooo I went through this last year when I first got my 6a! I was literally obsessed with finding something that wouldn't block the charging port. I'm still kinda new to this but I've done a ton of research!! It's amazing how many mounts just don't fit the button layout correctly... anyway, just sharing my experience: 1. I basically lived with the Loncaster Silicone Car Phone Holder for months; it's a fantastic budget option (under $20!) that just sits on the dash so there's no adhesive damage!
2. I also tried the Kenu Airframe Pro which actually has a reallyyy sturdy pivot that didn't flop around even with a heavy case. Quick tips:
- Highkey check the gap between the bottom feet to ensure your USB-C cable fits easily... some are way too narrow!!
- Double check the grip height so it doesn't mash the volume buttons. peace!

I am having the same issue actually. Just got my 6a and I am really hesitant to buy anything that might fail and let the phone drop or damage my interior. I have been looking at a few different setups but I am stuck in the research phase because everything seems to have some kind of trade-off. These are the ones I am currently weighing:

  • Belkin Car Universal Mount Pros: The build quality seems reliable for a vent mount. Cons: I worry about the weight of the phone stressing the vent slats over time.
  • Spigen Kuel Signature Dashboard Mount Pros: Low profile and does not block much of the windshield view. Cons: Dashboard adhesive is always a risk for the interior finish.
  • ProClip Custom Dash Mount Pros: Probably the most secure option on the market since it is custom fit. Cons: Much more expensive and requires a two-part system. It is tough to decide when you want something that actually lasts and wont break the car. I am still searching for that perfect balance of safety and price... honestly might just keep looking for a bit longer.
