Recommendations for a fast wireless charger for Pixel 9 Pro XL?

I just upgraded to the Pixel 9 Pro XL and I'm absolutely loving the phone so far, but I’ve realized my old wireless chargers are painfully slow. Since this model supports much faster wireless charging speeds (up to 23W with the right gear), I really want to take advantage of that without having to plug it in every night.

I’ve been looking at the official Google Pixel Stand (2nd Gen), but it’s a bit pricey, so I’m wondering if it’s truly the only way to hit those top speeds. I’ve also looked into some 15W Qi-certified pads from brands like Anker or Spigen, but I’m confused about whether they’ll actually trigger the 'charging rapidly' status or just trickle charge overnight. My main goal is to find something reliable that won't overheat the phone while I'm using it as a bedside clock.

Has anyone found a third-party stand or pad that actually delivers fast speeds for the 9 Pro XL? Or should I just bite the bullet and get the official Google one to ensure compatibility? I'd love to hear what setups you guys are using!

Seconding the recommendation above. I mean, it really is a bummer that Google keeps the fastest speeds locked behind their own hardware, but you're spot on about the safety side of things. I've been a tech nerd for years and honestly, I've seen way too many cheap chargers get dangerously hot or just kill the battery longevity because they don't manage thermals right.

So yeah, if you want that 23W 'charging rapidly' status without your phone feeling like a hot potato, the Google Pixel Stand (2nd Generation) is basically the only play because it has a built-in fan that kicks on during those high-speed bursts. But if you're looking for something for your bedside that won't cook your battery overnight, I'd actually look into the Anker 313 Wireless Charger (Pad). It only hits 15W max (and usually 12W on Pixels), but it's super reliable and follows the Qi standard perfectly.

Another solid, safety-first option is the Spigen ArcField Wireless Charger (15W Max). It won't give you that 23W speed, but it has decent heat management. Ngl, even though it's pricey, the Pixel Stand is worth it for the peace of mind alone... plus it turns your 9 Pro XL into a nice Nest Hub-style clock while it's docked. If you're worried about long-term battery health, sticking with certified gear is definately the way to go. GL with the new phone!! 👍

Honestly, I feel u on this. I recently upgraded too and realized my old chargers were basically useless for the new speeds. In my experience, if you actually want that 23W fast charging, you lowkey have to just bite the bullet and get the Google Pixel Stand (2nd Gen).

I've tried many "fast" third-party pads over the years, and basically, none of them hit that top speed because Google uses a proprietary handshake for the full 23W. Here is what I found:

1. Google Pixel Stand (2nd Gen): It's expensive but it's the ONLY one that hits 23W. Plus, it has a built-in fan so it doesn't overheat your phone while it's in bedside mode. Totally worth it if you want it to actually be charged when you wake up.
2. Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (15W): This is great for a desk, but iirc it'll only hit 15W max on the Pixel 9 Pro XL via the EPP standard. It's fast, but not *Pixel Stand* fast.
3. Spigen ArcField Wireless Charger (15W): Similar story here. It's super reliable and well-built, but you won't see that "Charging Rapidly" status at the full 23W speed.

So yeah, if you want the absolute fastest, just get the official one. It's kinda annoying that they lock the top speeds behind their own gear, but that fan really helps with the heat issues you mentioned. Anyway, hope that helps! gl with the new phone!

Similar situation here - I was also super hesitant about the cost of fast charging. I actually tried a cheaper third-party stand first, but it was realy frustrating because it would say 'charging' but the percentage barely moved overnight...

* My current setup is a bit of a mix now.
* I ended up finding a used one online for way less.

Honestly, I'm satisfied now cuz it stays cool as a bedside clock, but I definitely learned that some brands just wont hit those top speeds. 👍
