I just finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the Pixel 9 Pro in Hazel, and I am super excited to get it in my hands. However, I am a bit nervous about the new camera bar design and really want to keep the glass pristine from day one.
I am specifically looking for recommendations on:
I have had bad luck with sensors not reading through thick glass before, so I want to get it right this time. What are the best cases and screen protectors you have found for the Pixel 9 Pro?
Saw this earlier but just getting back to you. Before I suggest my top picks, do you tend to drop your phone on hard surfaces often? I always prioritize reliability over aesthetics.
ngl Whitestone Dome Glass UV Gen Screen Protector is the gold standard for sensors, tho amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass is cheaper. Pair either with Caseology Athlex Case to stay slim but safe.
Congrats on the Hazel! I think the new ultrasonic sensor is gonna be way more forgiving, but I am not 100% sure if all glass will work perfectly. IIRC, someone told me those liquid adhesive protectors are usually best for fingerprints. For cases, I definitely recommend finding one with a raised edge for that camera bar... better to be safe than sorry with all that glass on the back.
I learned my lesson the hard way with my last phone when I bought a cheap generic glass that basically turned the fingerprint sensor into a paperweight. Since the Pixel 9 Pro uses an ultrasonic sensor, you really need something with high-quality adhesive. I've been digging into the specs and the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Tempered Glass for Pixel 9 Pro is usually my go-to. The alignment tool is key because even a tiny misalignment can mess with how those sonar waves read your print. For the case, I'm pretty paranoid about drops, so I usually stick with the Mous Limitless 5.0 for Pixel 9 Pro. They use AiroShock material which is basically high-end impact absorption without the bulk of a heavy duty case. It's a bit pricey but worth it to keep that camera bar safe. Ngl, I'd rather spend the extra cash now than deal with a repair later.
