Hey everyone! I just picked up the new Pixel 9 Pro in the Hazel color, and it looks so good that I really don't want to hide it behind a solid color case. I'm looking for a solid clear case that won't turn yellow after a month of use.

I've been looking at a few options, but I'm worried about a few specific things:

  • if they have strong MagSafe magnets for my car mount
  • how bulky they feel in the pocket
  • whether the buttons stay nice and clicky

I've had some bad luck with cheap cases in the past. Does anyone have a favorite brand that stays crystal clear and offers decent drop protection? What are the best clear cases for the Google Pixel 9 Pro right now?

I'd just stick with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit Clear for Pixel 9 Pro. It is a safe bet for drop protection and the magnets are pretty strong.

I used to waste money on cheap cases that yellowed in weeks, which ends up costing more long-term. Eventually I switched to the Mous Clarity 2.0 Clear Case for Pixel 9 Pro MagSafe and the magnet strength is night and day compared to budget brands. It is pricey but worth it for the drop protection. If you want something thinner, the Caseology Capella Mag Clear for Pixel 9 Pro is solid and keeps the buttons tactile.

I've gone through so many clear cases over the years and honestly, I got tired of the fingerprints even more than the yellowing. I finally decided to try something premium but not quite as pricey as the Mous ones. I ended up with the Torras Magnetic Shockproof Case for Google Pixel 9 Pro Clear and it's been a total game changer. The magnets are actually stronger than my old cases and it doesnt have that sticky plastic feel that some budget options do. The buttons are separate pieces so they stay super clicky, which was a huge deal for me. Pro tip tho: if you want to avoid yellowing, just give it a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth once a week to get the skin oils off. Its usually the oils combined with UV that ruin them, but this one has stayed crystal clear for me so far. Definitely worth the extra few bucks over the generic ones.

Totally agree on the magnet importance. Id also look at Ringke Fusion Magnetic Pixel 9 Pro Clear Case since its cheaper but still really reliable for drop protection and has clicky buttons.

Been using dbrand for a few years now and honestly their stuff is just built differently. You cant go wrong with any of their clear cases for the Pixel 9 Pro. It keeps the Hazel color looking sharp and the magnet strength is top tier for heavy car mounts. No complaints on my end. Check out some of the drop test videos on YouTube or even the Pixel subreddit if you want to see how they hold up after a few months. Those resources are way better than reading marketing specs imo. Im very satisfied with the button feel too, they stay nice and clicky. It feels much safer than the budget brands.

I am actually in the exact same boat with my Hazel 9 Pro. Its such a gorgeous finish that covering it up feels like a crime, but man, I have been burned by anti-yellowing promises so many times over the years. I even tried some DIY solutions like applying ceramic coatings meant for cars to my old clear cases to see if it would block the oils, but it was a mess honestly. You might want to be cautious because I think I heard somewhere that the heat from the phone actually accelerates the yellowing way more than UV light does. Not sure but I recall someone mentioning on a tech thread that the chemical reaction with hand oils is basically inevitable with TPU. IIRC, even the premium ones eventually succumb to it if you use the phone heavily. I would suggest being careful with the ones claiming to have the strongest magnets too... sometimes they use thinner plastic backplates to get the magnet closer to the surface which might compromise the structural integrity. Im still hunting for the perfect balance myself, so I definitely feel your frustration here.
