Hey everyone! I just pre-ordered the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and I'm super excited, but honestly, I'm a bit nervous about dropping this massive glass slab. I’ve been looking at options but I’m torn between getting something super rugged like an OtterBox or going for a thinner, more stylish case that actually shows off the phone's color. I definitely need something with good grip since the phone is so large, and I'd love to know if any of you have found cases that are MagSafe compatible for easier charging. What are your top recommendations for a balance between serious drop protection and a slim profile for the new 9 Pro XL?

Quick question—are you planning to use heavy MagSafe accessories like wallets, or just for charging? Makes a huge difference for magnet strength!! In my experience, these two are fantastic alternatives to the Spigen stuff mentioned before: 1. Dbrand Grip Case for Pixel 9 Pro XL: Literally the grippiest texture ever. Slim but highkey protective.
2. Peak Design Everyday Case for Pixel 9 Pro XL: Super stylish fabric look, though maybe less drop protection than the Dbrand. Both are awesome choices tho!

In my experience, finding that middle ground is pretty tricky because the Pixel 9 Pro XL is SO huge and slippery. Basically, those paper-thin cases usually lack the internal shock-absorbing layers—like TPU or specialized foams—that you actually need for a glass-backed phone. Over the years, I've tried many, and I've learned that a case with a built-in magnetic ring is highkey a MUST for MagSafe stuff cuz it helps with the alignment on the internal charging coil. For your situation, I would suggest the Mous Limitless 5.0 for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. It uses this AiroShock tech which provides serious drop protection, but it’s way slimmer than a bulky OtterBox. Plus, it’s got that MagSafe compatibility ur looking for. If you want to show off the color, the Spigen Ultra Hybrid (MagFit) for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is also a solid, clear choice. Tbh, the grip on the Mous is better... good luck!

TL;DR from this thread: you definitely need grip and MagSafe for this massive slab! Everyone mentioned the Dbrand Grip Case for Pixel 9 Pro XL, but honestly, I've had issues with premium cases peeling... not as good as expected for the price. • Ringke Onyx Magnetic for Pixel 9 Pro XL: Best budget MagSafe pick. • Caseology Athlex for Pixel 9 Pro XL: Seriously grippy and way cheaper than Spigen. Basically, you don't gotta spend $50+ for solid protection!! Peace.

I’m a bit of a beginner with these massive phones, but I’ve been thinking about the DIY side of things. Like, are you looking for a case that's easy to set up yourself, or are you considering a professional service to handle the protection? Tbh, I'm curious if you're worried about the installation part at all, because some of these rugged setups look pretty tricky to get right without bubbles or gaps! (At least that's what I'm nervous about.)
