I finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and while I’m beyond excited to try out the new Tensor chip and camera features, I’m also slightly terrified of dropping it. This thing is a massive investment, and given the size of the 'XL' model, I’m worried about it being a bit slippery in hand. I really want to make sure that distinctive camera bar is well-protected from scratches when I set it down.
In the past, I’ve usually gone with super thin cases, but for a phone this large and expensive, I think I need to level up to something more rugged. I’ve been looking at the official Google cases, but they sometimes feel a bit too smooth for my liking. I’m specifically looking for a case that offers excellent drop protection but doesn't add a ridiculous amount of bulk to an already big device. Also, having MagSafe compatibility for my car mount would be a huge plus!
I’ve checked out a few options from brands like Spigen and Mous, but I’m curious to see what the community thinks. Does anyone have early recommendations or personal favorites that provide the best balance of grip, protection, and style for the Pixel 10 Pro XL?
Late to the party but i feel u on the safety concern! idk much but I've tried many cases over the years and for a slab this massive, grip is basically life or death lol. Check out Dbrand Grip Case for Google Pixel 10 Pro XL—the texture is actually insane. Pro tip: browse r/GooglePixel for their user-sourced case spreadsheets. ngl Poetic Spartan Case for Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is a total tank for protection!
TIL! Thanks for sharing
Basically, with these massive glass slabs, you're balancing "heft" against "shattered screen." I feel u on the slipperiness! Over the years, I've tried many cases, and most thin ones are actually useless for that huge camera bar. For your Pixel 10 Pro XL, you highkey need a raised bezel to keep that glass safe. In my experience, Mous Limitless 5.0 for Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is the best balance. It's got MagSafe and their AiroShock tech is legit—I've literally dropped my old Pixels on concrete and they survived. It's pricey, around $60, but worth it. If you wanna save cash, Spigen Tough Armor MagFit for Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is a solid alternative for about $30. I think the magnets are better on the Mous, idk but both work for car mounts. TL;DR: Go Mous for premium slim protection or Spigen for value. gl!
In my experience, go with Caseology. Their TPU textures are honestly the best for grip, and the MagSafe magnets are highkey strong without adding bulk. Great for that huge camera bar too!
To add to the point above: it seems the thread is split between the Mous for style and things like the Poetic for pure armor. Honestly tho, I've been kinda disappointed with the case market lately. Many of the big names just aren't as good as expected and feel cheaper than they used to. I've been looking at a few others since I'm also paranoid about drops and I've noticed some trade-offs:
