I just pulled the trigger on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and I am beyond excited to get my hands on it next week. Since this is such a significant investment and foldables are naturally a bit more delicate than standard slab phones, I want to make sure I have everything ready to go the moment it arrives.

I have been browsing cases, but I am struggling to find the right balance between solid protection and keeping that impressively thin profile Google is promoting. Should I stick with the official Google case, or are there third-party brands like Spigen or dbrand that offer better hinge protection without adding too much bulk? I am also a bit nervous about the inner display. Is it worth looking into a third-party screen protector for the folding glass, or is that more trouble than it is worth?

On the power side, I am wondering if I need to upgrade to the official 45W charging brick to see the fastest speeds, or if my existing USB-C chargers will suffice. I am also curious if anyone has found a car mount that actually works well with the wider dimensions of a foldable. If any of you have already started picking up gear, I would love to hear your recommendations.

What are the absolute must-have accessories you would suggest for someone trying to keep their Pixel 10 Pro Fold in mint condition?

Sooo, I went through this exact same panic when I first switched to a foldable last year. Honestly, it is a bit of a learning curve because you're basically carrying a tiny tablet that folds in half lol. I spent forever researching cases because I didn't want my phone to feel like a brick, but I was terrified of dropping it on that exposed hinge. Basically, the technical side of the hinge is where it gets tricky. Most thin cases skip hinge protection entirely because adding a mechanical cover usually makes the phone wider or creates a bump when unfolded. I ended up trying the Spigen Tough Armor Pro P Case for Pixel 10 Pro Fold and while it adds some girth, the peace of mind is real. If you want something sleeker, the dbrand Grip Case for Pixel 10 Pro Fold is actually solid too because of the texture. Plus, it doesnt feel as bulky in the pocket as you might expect. Regarding the power situation, Google uses a specific charging profile. To hit the full speeds on the Google 45W USB-C Power Adapter, your charger needs to support PPS (Programmable Power Supply). If your old bricks don't have that, you'll probably just see standard 18W or 27W speeds, which is a bummer. Also, iirc, you should really avoid messing with that inner screen protector. It's highkey integrated into the display tech, and peeling it can literally ruin the panel... definitely not worth the risk! Anyway, my lesson learned was that you gotta prioritize the hinge first. A scratched hinge can actually jam the mechanism over time, so thinness might have to take a backseat to durability for a bit. Hope that helps!! good luck

Respectfully, I'd consider another option. skip inner screen protectors cuz they're a safety risk! grab the VRS Design Terra Guard Modern for Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Anker 713 Charger Nano II 45W for safety!!

It is definitely a balancing act trying to protect such an expensive piece of tech without going broke on the extras. Foldable gear is naturally more expensive, so it really depends on your needs and how much bulk you can tolerate. Honestly, looking at these prices reminded me of a trip i took to a tech expo last summer. i got so distracted by the booths that i left my bag sitting right on a bench for like half an hour. nearly had a heart attack when i realized it was gone. luckily a staff member found it but man, my stomach was in knots the whole time. i guess that is why i am so paranoid about protection now... anyway but yeah. TL;DR: Costs add up fast with foldables, so i would suggest just sticking to the basics and dont feel pressured to overspend on extras you might not even use.
