I just picked up the new Pixel 8a in that beautiful Bay color, and I want to make sure I protect it properly from day one! Since this phone is a bit smaller than the Pro models, I am looking for a slim case that offers decent drop protection without being too bulky.

I also noticed it doesn't come with a charging brick, so I need recommendations for a reliable fast charger that won't overheat the battery. I have heard some screen protectors can mess with the under-display fingerprint sensor, so I am a bit nervous about picking a random one.

  • Slim, clear cases
  • PPS compatible chargers
  • Fingerprint-friendly screen protectors

What are your top recommendations for accessories that really enhance the Pixel 8a experience?

ok so i tried a few options and for a budget setup, the JETech Clear Case for Google Pixel 8a beats the expensive ones for being realy slim. for power, i chose the Amazon Basics 25W Wall Charger with PPS over google's brick cuz it's half the price. also, Mr.Shield Designed for Google Pixel 8a Screen Protector is way cheaper than brands like zagg and wont mess with ur fingerprint sensor. lowkey the best value!

> I also noticed it doesn't come with a charging brick, so I need recommendations for a reliable fast charger that won't overheat the battery. sooo i totally get the nerves about the charging situation... i actually messed up the battery life on my last device cuz i was using a random high-wattage brick that i found in a junk drawer and it didn't support the right pps protocols... it stayed way too hot while charging which is like the worst thing for ur battery health long term so i learned my lesson the hard way!! for the technical side u basically want something with pps... that stands for programmable power supply and it basically lets the phone talk to the brick to adjust the voltage so it doesn't get all hot and bothered. i would honestly suggest going with the Google 30W USB-C Power Charger because i think sticking with the official stuff is the safest bet even if it is a bit more expensive... it is just better to be safe than sorry with a brand new phone!! here are some other options i've been looking at that seem pretty safe:

  • Ringke Fusion Clear Case for Pixel 8a which is really slim but has some decent corner protection for drops
  • Caseology Snap Fit Screen Protector for Pixel 8a because it comes with an alignment tool so u don't mess up the install
  • UGREEN Nexode 30W USB C Charger as a smaller alternative that still handles the pps stuff safely also just a heads up... if u do get a screen protector u really gotta go into the display settings and toggle the screen protector mode on... it basically makes the fingerprint sensor much more sensitive so it actually works!! just be careful during the application and try to keep dust out... it can be a real pain if u get a bubble right over the sensor area. anyway i hope that helps a bit... i am still figuring this stuff out too but being cautious definitely pays off! gl!! peace
