I just upgraded to the Pixel 8 Pro, and while I love the screen, this thing is a absolute unit! I really want to protect it from scratches, but I hate how bulky rugged cases make it feel in my pocket. I’m looking for something super thin that maintains the phone's sleek profile without sacrificing too much grip, as the glass back is pretty slippery. I've looked at the Ringke Slim and some carbon fiber options, but I'm worried about the lip protection for that massive camera bar. Does anyone have a favorite ultra-thin case that actually fits well? I’d love to hear what you’re using to keep the bulk down!

Hmm, I've had a different experience with those super thin plastic shells. In my experience, they just don't have enough grip for such a big phone. If you want that slim feel without the bulk, I'd actually suggest a different approach:

* Look into Aramid fiber cases from brands like Mous or Pitaka
* Try a high-quality skin from dbrand for zero bulk

I've tried many over the years and those fibers are way more durable than cheap plastic. Plus, the texture is sooo much better for grip!

Honestly, I had a bad time with cheap carbon fiber cases... no lip protection at all. Ringke Slim for Pixel 8 Pro is okay, but I basically live by the Spigen Thin Fit for Pixel 8 Pro now cuz it's cheap and actually protects that camera bar.

sooo I've been through like ten different flagship launches over the years and honestly, I've learned the hard way that 'slim' and 'protective' usually don't hang out in the same neighborhood. unfortunately, most people think that a thin case is just about preventing scratches, but with these huge glass camera bars, it's actually about structural rigidity. if the case is too thin and flexible, it wont actually absorb any impact, it just transfers the shock right to the glass.

respectfully, I'd consider another option besides those super cheap plastic shells or the ultra-pricey fiber ones mentioned earlier. in my experience, those really thin ones are basically just stickers with extra steps and they offer zero drop protection for that massive sensor array. plus, they tend to stretch out after a few months and then you get dust trapped inside that scratches the phone anyway!

* honestly, just go with Caseology. they're owned by the same people as the brands mentioned above but they focus way more on texture and grip without being bulky.

* if ur worried about price, just get any basic TPU option from Cyrill. they have a much better 'hand feel' than the hard plastic ones and actually have a lip for the camera.

* look for anything with a 'sandstone' or 'matte' finish from brands like X-Level... it makes the phone feel way more secure in your hand so you dont drop it in the first place lol.

tbh I've had issues with the really thin stuff before and regretted it after one small drop. definitely go for something with a bit of texture but keep it to the budget brands. gl!
