Hey everyone! I just upgraded to the Pixel 10 Pro XL and I am absolutely loving it, but I realized my old charging brick is super slow. I want to make sure I am actually hitting those advertised fast charging speeds without causing any weird heat issues.

I have been doing some research but I am getting a bit lost in all the different specs. I know I specifically need:

  • PPS (Programmable Power Supply) support
  • At least 45W of power for the best results
  • Something reliable that won't overheat the battery

Does anyone have a specific recommendation for a brick that works perfectly with the Pixel 10 Pro XL?

Catching this a day late, but quick question: do you usually charge overnight or do you need those super fast top-ups during the day? Reliability is key so i would honestly look at the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 45W Dual USB-C. Its usually around $35 and handles PPS perfectly without getting too hot. Its a solid, cost-effective pick that wont fry your new phone.

Congrats on the upgrade! Honestly, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is a beast, but Google is really picky about their charging tech. You definitely need that PPS support because it lets the phone talk to the brick to adjust the voltage in real-time. This is huge because it keeps the heat down, which is basically what kills batteries over time... Ive been using the Google 45W USB-C Power Adapter and it has been flawless. It hits the max speeds every time without the phone getting toast. If you want something a bit smaller for travel, I also swear by the Anker 713 Charger Nano II 45W. It uses GaN tech so it stays cool even though its tiny. Just make sure you are using a high-quality 5A cable too, or you might not actually hit that 45W peak even with the right brick.

I have been thinking about your question for a bit and wanted to jump in because I have definitely learned the hard way about cheap chargers. A couple years back I ruined a battery by using a brick that didnt have proper voltage regulation, so now I am super cautious about what I plug my $1000 phone into. Honestly, it is not worth saving ten bucks just to risk your battery health over the long term. For the Pixel 10 Pro XL, you really want to look for GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology. It is way more efficient and stays much cooler than the old school silicon chargers. I have been using the UGREEN Nexode 65W USB C GaN Charger 3-Port for my high-end devices and it has been rock solid. It supports the PPS protocol perfectly, so it hits those 45W speeds without any weird clicking sounds or overheating issues. Plus, having the extra ports is handy for charging your watch or buds at the same time. If you want something even more heavy-duty for peace of mind, the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 65W Dual USB-C GaN Wall Charger with PPS is basically the gold standard for safety. It is a bit pricier but Belkin usually offers a connected equipment warranty which makes me feel better. Also, just a quick tip... make sure you are using a 5A rated cable. If you use a standard 3A cable, the brick might limit the output to 30W even if it is capable of more. Better to be safe than sorry with these expensive batteries tbh.

Re: "Im always worried about heat damaging the battery..." - honestly, i used to be so paranoid about this too! I spent way too much on official chargers because I thought everything else would fry my tech. But i actually disagree that the Google brick is the only safe bet. I switched to the UGREEN Nexode 45W Dual USB C GaN Charger and it is fantastic! It stays so cool. Love it because its way cheaper and you get an extra port for your buds. Truly amazing value compared to those pricey options. Quick tips:

  • Look for GaN tech specifically, it runs way cooler than old style bricks.
  • Grab a cable that supports 5A to ensure you actually hit those PPS speeds!

Im always worried about heat damaging the battery long-term. Are you looking for a single port brick just for the phone, or do you need to charge multiple devices safely at once?
