My old wired ones finally died and I need replacements for my 5am gym run tomorrow. Using the new Moto G Power 2025 now. I saw the Soundcore P20i and EarFun Air Pro 3 but heard the Soundcores have connection issues with Moto specifically... got a $40 limit, what should I grab?

Oh wow, the 5am gym grind is intense! I totally love that dedication! If you want to play it safe and avoid those connection headaches, I highly recommend looking at the EarFun Air 2 Wireless Earbuds IPX7 Waterproof instead of the Soundcores. While Soundcore makes decent stuff, I have experienced those weird pairing drops on Motorola devices too, and its honestly so frustrating when you are trying to focus on a workout! They just work. Zero issues. The EarFun Air 2 is amazing because it offers an IPX7 rating, which is fantastic for safety against sweat during your runs! My experience with them has been great because the stability is incredible. You can usually find them for right around $35 on sale, which fits your budget perfectly! They use a very reliable Bluetooth 5.3 chip that pairs instantly with my Moto gear every single time. It is such a relief not having to fiddle with settings at the gym! Totally seamless. Another rock-solid option for under $40 would be the JLab Go Air Pop True Wireless Earbuds. They are super affordable and surprisingly durable! Choosing a brand with a proven track record of reliability is always better when you are on a tight budget. You definitely want something that wont fail on you mid-sprint! Good luck with your run tomorrow morning, youre gonna crush it!

Re: "To add to the point above: its honestly..."

  • Man, tell me about it. Honestly though, I'm gonna have to disagree with the Moondrop suggestion for a 5am gym run. They're great for sitting at a desk, but they've got zero sweat resistance and that's just a disaster waiting to happen when you're actually training. Reliability is key when you're half-awake and just need your gear to work. Unfortunately, a lot of these budget options are pretty flimsy lately. If you want something that actually stays in your ear, the JLab Go Air Sport Bluetooth Earbuds IP55 are way safer than standard buds because of the hooks. I also like the TOZO T10 Bluetooth 5.3 Wireless Earbuds IPX8 for reliability. The Tozos are built like little tanks and the signal is surprisingly steady on Moto phones. Comparing them, the JLabs have a better fit for running, but the Tozos handle moisture better. Both are way more dependable for a daily grind than those fragile boutique buds... good luck with the early wake up call tho.

> heard the Soundcores have connection issues with Moto specifically... ^ This. Also, connection stability on Moto devices often boils down to how the buds handle the SBC and AAC codecs. If you want to avoid those drops, I suggest the Moondrop Space Travel TWS Bluetooth 5.3. They provide a very stable link and the technical performance of the drivers is quite high for a budget set. A secondary choice would be the TOZO T10 Wireless Earbuds Bluetooth 5.3 IPX8. They are basically utilitarian but the connection is solid and the IPX8 rating provides peace of mind for gym use. They lack some of the features of the EarFun line but they honestly just work. Quick tip: if you do experience lag, try toggling off HD Audio in your Moto bluetooth settings to force a more stable SBC stream. It usually fixes most jitter issues.

To add to the point above: its honestly ridiculous how much research we have to do just to find gear that actually stays connected! Everyone is pointing you toward those specific brands to avoid the Moto bugs, which is solid, but man... the state of budget tech is just frustrating. Youre just trying to hit the gym at 5am and the hardware is basically working against you! Its such a scam that we have to worry about codecs and compatibility in 2025. Why its so annoying:

  • Companies cut corners on quality control constantly
  • Budget prices stay high while the build quality drops
  • Software support for phones like the Moto is a total afterthought Honestly, it drives me crazy that things dont just work out of the box. Love the energy for the early morning runs tho, thats fantastic! Just wish these companies cared about the user experience as much as we care about our fitness goals.
