Best waterproof pouches for taking a Motorola phone to the beach?

I’m planning a beach trip in a few weeks and I’m a bit nervous about bringing my Motorola Edge along. I really want to capture some photos and videos of the kids in the water, but I’m terrified of sand getting into the charging port or, even worse, salt water frying the internals. Since Motorola phones aren't always as widely supported for custom-fit hard cases as iPhones or Pixels, I figure a high-quality waterproof pouch is my best bet.

I’ve been looking at some generic ones online, but I’m worried about a few things. First, will the touch screen actually be responsive through the plastic, or will I be struggling to hit the shutter button? Also, my phone is on the larger side, so I need something that won't be a tight squeeze or muffle the audio too much if I’m recording video. I’m looking for something durable with a really secure seal—ideally under $30. Have any of you found a specific brand or model of waterproof pouch that fits Motorola phones well and keeps them bone-dry even if they take a quick dip? I’d love to hear what worked for you before I hit the sand!

Quick question - which specific Motorola+Edge+model+do+you+ha&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola Edge model do you have? There are a few different sizes, like the 2023 vs the 2024 versions, and I wanna make sure I suggest something with enough internal clearance so the touch response isn't glitchy.

In my experience, if the fit is too tight, the plastic clings to the screen and makes it impossible to hit the shutter button. I've tried many over the years, but I'd look into the Hiearcool Waterproof Phone Pouch 2-Pack or maybe the Syncwire Waterproof Phone Pouch IPX8. They both handle larger phones way better than the generic ones from the drug store!

Ok so, respectfully, I'd consider another option besides those cheap pouches. I've literally seen too many "waterproof" seals fail after one dip, and salt water is *vicious*. Honestly, I switched to a heavy-duty floating dry bag for my larger Motorola. It feels way more secure since it doesnt rely on a thin plastic zip, plus it actually floats if you drop it while chasing the kids! It basically keeps everything bone-dry without the touchscreen glitching out through a tight sleeve. 👍

Pro tip: honestly, check out the Yosh Universal Waterproof Phone Pouch. It's pretty much the best value I've found under $15. It fits my bulky Motorola+just+fine+and+the+to&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola just fine and the touch screen stays *actually* responsive for photos! 👍

In my experience, the recurring struggle with these universal pouches is just constant. Ive been through this cycle for years with various Motorola phones, and it is honestly so frustrating that we are forced to settle for these flimsy generic solutions. You end up spending half the beach trip obsessively checking the seal instead of actually enjoying the moment with your family. The biggest safety concern I have seen over the years is how salt water and sand essentially act as abrasives. They degrade the plastic and the locking mechanisms much faster than people realize. It is a methodical process of failure; even if you are incredibly careful, a single grain of sand caught in the seal is enough to let salt water in and fry the internals. It makes me incredibly nervous every time I see someone dunk their phone using a DIY setup like this. Its a stressful situation because you are basically betting a high-end device on a thin piece of plastic that wasnt even engineered for your specific phone dimensions. Honestly, it is just a disaster waiting to happen.

In my experience, the JOTO Universal Waterproof Phone Pouch Case is basically the gold standard for this. I've used it with my larger Moto phones for years and it's *literally* never leaked. It fits those bigger screens without being a total squeeze. Ngl, touchscreens are always kinda finicky underwater, so use the volume buttons to snap pics! Honestly, just test it with a paper towel first to be SAFE. 👍
