I just got the new Moto G Power 2025 today and I am so hyped!! its so much faster than my old junker phone but I am like super nervous about the screen. I drop my phone literally all the time especially when I am hiking so I need something really strong. sorry if this is a silly question but I have no clue what to look for when buying a screen protector... like what does 9h mean? is glass better than the plastic ones? I want to spend maybe 15 bucks and need to get it by friday before I head out on my camping trip. any specific brands that actually fit this model perfectly?

I remember my first big hike with a brand new phone. I dropped it right onto a jagged piece of granite and felt my heart sink... but the screen was fine because I had a glass protector on. Since then, I have become kinda obsessed with the tech specs of these things. That 9h label you see everywhere basically refers to the pencil hardness scale. It means the surface can resist scratches from a 9h pencil, which is pretty much the hardest one. Honestly, I am always more satisfied with tempered glass over plastic because glass handles impacts way better. Plastic is okay for scratches, but it wont save your screen from a hard drop on a trail. For the Moto G Power 2025, I have messed around with a couple of brands that usually ship fast enough to meet your Friday deadline:

  • Supershieldz Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Moto G Power 2025 3-Pack: I am super happy with this one. It is really clear and doesnt make the screen look dull. It fits the dimensions perfectly and having three in the box is great for when you eventually crack one on a rock.
  • Motorola+Moto+G+Power+2025+3-Pack&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Mr.Shield Tempered Glass for Motorola Moto G Power 2025 3-Pack: These guys are solid too. I have used them on several devices and the adhesive works well without peeling at the corners. They also have a lifetime replacement thing which is nice if you are a frequent dropper. Both of these are well under your 15 dollar budget and provide that 9h protection you need for camping. Just make sure the screen is 100 percent dust-free before you drop the glass on or you will get bubbles...

To add to the point above: unfortunately, 9H is mostly marketing fluff and was not as good as expected. Ive had glass shatter on tiny pebbles.

  • do you use a case?
  • whats your budget? It is risky.
