Recommended fast charging bricks for the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra?

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded to the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, and honestly, I’m blown away by the 125W TurboPower charging speeds. It’s a total game-changer coming from my old device. However, I’ve realized I really need a second charging brick to keep at my office so I don't have to lug the original one back and forth in my bag every day.

I'm a bit nervous about just picking up any random high-wattage charger from Amazon. I know Motorola uses their specific TurboPower technology, but since it's USB-C, I'm hoping some reliable third-party options are compatible. I’ve been looking at some 140W GaN chargers from brands like Anker or Ugreen to save some space, but I’m not sure if they support the specific PPS (Programmable Power Supply) protocols required to actually hit those top-tier speeds on the Edge 50 Ultra. I definitely don't want to spend $60 on a "fast" charger only to find out it's capped at 18W or 27W because of a handshake issue.

Does anyone here have experience with third-party bricks for this specific phone? Are there any particular models you’ve verified can actually trigger the "TurboPower" animation and charge near that 125W mark?

Yo! Huge congrats on the Edge 50 Ultra!! Honestly, that 125W charging is a literal game-changer, right? Once you go that fast, there is no going back to the dark ages of slow charging... haha. I totally get the anxiety about picking a third-party brick tho—I’ve been there, and I’ve definitely wasted money on "fast" chargers that ended up being total duds because they didn't have the right PPS handshake for Motorola's TurboPower tech. In my experience, you really have to look for chargers that support high-wattage PPS (Programmable Power Supply). Here’s what I’ve verified for an office setup: * Anker 737 Charger (GaNPrime 120W): This is my daily driver. Pro: It’s super compact and the GaN tech keeps it from getting hot. Con: It usually settles around 100W on the Moto protocol. You’ll see the "TurboPower" animation, but it's not quite the full 125W peak.
* Ugreen Nexode 140W USB C GaN Charger: This one is an absolute beast. Pro: It supports PD 3.1 and has great thermal management. Con: It’s definitely bulkier and might actually fall out of loose wall sockets if you aren't careful! But seriously, dont forget you MUST have a proper 5A or 6A cable too! If you use a cheap one, the phone highkey throttles to 60W or less for safety. I’d grab the Anker 765 USB-C to USB-C Cable (140W Nylon) to go with whatever brick you choose. Personally, I think the Anker is better for a gear bag, but the Ugreen is great as a permanent office fixture. Hope that helps you out! Are you planning on charging a laptop with it too or just the phone?? Cheers! 👍

Sooo similar situation here - I went through this last year when I was looking for a travel brick for my Moto gear. Honestly, I was super nervous about the handshake issue or just getting slow speeds... it's a total maze lol. I basically spent a week testing different bricks cuz I wanted something smaller for my desk. * Baseus 140W GaN5 Pro Fast Charger: This one is actually really sleek! It hit fast speeds, but tbh it didn't ALWAYS trigger that specific 125W animation on my screen every single time.
* Belkin BoostCharge Pro 140W 4-Port GaN Wall Charger: Super reliable brand, but it felt like it capped out around 65W or maybe 80W because of how the PPS steps aligned with Moto's specific tech. Idk, it’s kinda frustrating how picky these devices are with proprietary tech. I really love the speed, but finding a third-party match is basically a science experiment!! gl!
