Hey everyone! I recently picked up the Motorola Edge 60 Pro, and while I’m absolutely loving the phone so far, I’ve run into a bit of a dilemma with the charging situation. The 125W TurboPower charging that comes in the box is incredibly fast, but I really need a reliable spare for my office desk and another for my travel bag.
I’ve tried using an older 65W PD charger I had for my laptop, but it doesn't seem to trigger the 'TurboPower' animation, and the charging speed is nowhere near what I get with the official brick. I’m a bit confused because I thought Power Delivery was more universal. I’ve been looking at some high-wattage GaN chargers from brands like Anker and Ugreen, but I’m worried about spending $50+ only to find out they won't actually hit those top-tier speeds on a Motorola device.
Does anyone here have experience with third-party chargers for this specific model? I’m looking for something that won’t overheat the phone but still keeps that 'refill in minutes' experience. Are there specific protocols I should be looking for, or is the 125W speed strictly limited to Motorola’s proprietary hardware? What fast chargers are you all using that actually deliver the speeds promised?
Totally agree! Like said earlier, official is ur best bet: - Motorola+125W+TurboPower+Wall+Charger&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola 125W TurboPower Wall Charger: Full 125W
- Baseus 100W GaN5 Pro Desktop Charger: Caps at 45W (PPS limits) Stick with Moto for speed tho!!
Hmm, I've had a different experience. You don't NEED official bricks!! I'm super satisfied with the CUKTECH 140W GaN Charger; it hits PPS standards for high speeds safely and cheap. Specs matter more than branding tbh.
Honestly I’m still learning about this stuff too but I'm always worried about frying my battery if I use the wrong thing. I found that doing a bit of your own testing helps before you commit to a permanent office setup. Instead of just buying stuff and hoping it works, you could try these self-service steps: * Buy a cheap USB-C Power Meter to see the actual wattage going in.
* Make sure your cable is actually rated for 5A or 240W because regular ones wont hit those speeds. Its better to be safe than sorry when your messing with these high wattages. Have you checked out the AOHI Magcube 140W? It has a little light that changes color based on the charging status which helps me feel more confident about whats happening.
Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.
For your situation:
1. Moto uses proprietary tech.
2. PD bricks wont hit 125W and might overheat...
3. Id just stick with official bricks to stay safe!!
For your situation, I'd suggest:

Proprietary tech is sooo fickle and PD bricks like Anker 737 Charger wont hit max speeds safely!!
just catching up on this thread... been messing with moto charging quirks since the early days and man, you really gotta be careful with these high-wattage setups. they can get super finicky if the handshake isnt perfect. honestly this whole thing reminds me of my cousin who thought he was a tech genius back when the first turbo chargers came out. he tried to splice together two different cables to make some kind of diy super-charger for a cross-country road trip. we were about three hours into a drive through the desert when his center console started smoking like a chimney. we had to pull over and use a literal water cooler to stop the smoldering... ruined his upholstery and the phone was basically a brick after that. spent the rest of the trip sharing one tiny 5W travel plug between four people. what a total nightmare. but yeah, stuff is definitely more advanced now.
