Hey everyone! I just picked up the Moto G Stylus 2025 and I'm absolutely loving the screen real estate for my daily planners and quick sketches at work. However, I have a bad habit of misplacing things, and I’ve already had a couple of close calls where I almost left the pen behind at a coffee shop. I'm also noticing that the fine tip feels a bit different than the older models, and I'm worried about finding a replacement that actually fits inside the phone's built-in silo.

I've looked online, but a lot of the listings are for the 2022 or 2023 versions, and I know the dimensions can be slightly different each year. I’m really looking for something that:

  • Fits perfectly in the silo without rattling or getting stuck
  • Maintains the same level of responsiveness for handwriting
  • Doesn't scratch the screen after heavy use

Does anyone know if the 2024 stylus is cross-compatible, or if there are specific third-party brands that have released 2025-specific versions yet? I'd hate to buy a generic one only to find out it won't slide back into the phone correctly. What are you guys using for backups?

Do you use a screen protector? I compared the BoxWave Moto G Stylus 2025 FineTouch with the Motorola+Moto+G+Stylus+2025+OEM+Pen&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola Moto G Stylus 2025 OEM Pen. BoxWave is cheaper, but the fit feels kinda sketchy tbh.

I've been through every iteration of this phone since the beginning, so I totally feel your pain regarding the silo fit. It's the most annoying part of the upgrade cycle! For the 2025 model, Motorola slightly adjusted the taper of the pen compared to the 2023 version, so those older ones definitely won't sit flush. To answer your question about the 2024 pen—yes, it is actually cross-compatible with the 2025 silo. I've swapped them back and forth and the click mechanism holds just fine. However, if you want that exact feel you're used to, I'd suggest grabbing the Motorola+Moto+G+Stylus+5G+2025+Replacement+Stylus&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G 2025 Replacement Stylus directly. It's got the right elastomer tip that keeps things smooth without scratching. For a cheaper backup that you won't feel bad about losing, I usually point people toward the K-Momo Replacement Pen for Moto G Stylus 2025. It's a third-party brand that actually bothers to match the OEM dimensions so it won't get stuck in the silo. Just a heads up, avoid those super cheap generic 'capacitive' pens you see in bulk. They won't fit the silo and they feel like writing with a crayon. Stick to the ones specifically labeled for the 2024 or 2025 chassis and you'll be golden. Hope that helps you keep your notes organized at work!

I honestly just stick with official replacements from Motorola. I tried some cheap ones once and they felt super flimsy and didnt slide into the silo right, which was a total nightmare.

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.

I totally agree with the concerns about the fit tho. If it is even a tiny bit off, you really risk damaging the internal spring mechanism or getting it jammed, which is basically a nightmare to fix. Before I weigh in further, are you mostly using it for high-detail sketching or just quick notes? Knowing that helps narrow down the reliable options that wont ruin your phone.
