Hey everyone! I just upgraded to a Motorola Edge, and I’m a bit frustrated because I realized it doesn't have a headphone jack. I tried using a generic USB-C to 3.5mm dongle I had from an old device, but I keep getting a 'USB device not supported' error. I’ve read that Motorola phones can be picky about whether an adapter is 'active' with a built-in DAC or just 'passive.' I really want to keep using my wired Bose headphones for music and taking work calls, so microphone support is a must. Has anyone found a specific brand or a reliable adapter that works perfectly with Moto’s software? I'd love to know what you’re using!

Oh man, I totally feel u on this. I've been a Moto fan for years, but honestly, their move away from the jack has been sooo frustrating. I've actually gone through like three different adapters because Motorola phones are notoriously picky about needing an active DAC. For your situation, I would suggest just sticking with the official Google brand ones or maybe something from Apple. Basically, any big-name phone manufacturer's adapter is gonna have the chip you need built-in. I tried some generic ones from Amazon and literally got that same 'not supported' error... it's the worst!! I use my Bose QC series for work calls too, and going with a name-brand adapter was the only way I got the mic to actually work without static. Just get any active USB-C dongle from a reputable tech brand and you'll be golden. Gl! 👍

Here's what I recommend: honestly, I've spent way too much money on cheap ones that didn't work, so just grab the Apple USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter. It's super budget-friendly, basically like 10 bucks, and actually has a built-in DAC that works perfectly with Moto's software for calls and music. I mean, it's a bit flimsy, but it's the best value tbh.

yo! i totally get being cautious with the moto edge cuz honestly, moto phones are so picky with audio gear. i'm really careful about what i plug into my charging port since cheap knockoffs can lowkey mess up your hardware or just give you terrible static. for a safe and reliable choice that actually works for work calls, i reallyyy recommend the Google USB-C to 3.5mm Adapter.

it has a solid built-in DAC which is basically what the motorola+software+is+looking&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">motorola software is looking for to avoid that 'not supported' error. i've been using it for months and the microphone support is super stable for calls. another great high-quality option is the Samsung USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter EE-UC10JUWEGUS. both are super affordable and definitely safer than those random no-name ones. i mean, you gotta protect that charging port! hope one of those works out for ya tho!!

Curious about one thing: does ur current adapter click in fully? I think some cases block the DAC from seating right, tho Moto is super picky about digital vs analog audio out basically.
