Best fast charging cables for OnePlus Ace 5?

Hey everyone! I just recently picked up the new OnePlus Ace 5, and I’m absolutely loving the performance so far. However, I’ve quickly realized that the original cable included in the box is a bit too short for my setup, especially when I’m trying to charge the phone while relaxing on the couch or working at my desk.

Since the Ace 5 relies on that specific SUPERVOOC fast charging protocol to hit those insane speeds, I’m a bit nervous about just grabbing a random USB-C cable from a local shop. I’ve had bad experiences before where third-party cables would only charge at a snail's pace, which totally defeats the purpose of having a fast-charging beast. I’m specifically looking for a cable that is at least 2 meters (around 6.5 feet) long and ideally has a durable braided exterior, as the standard rubber ones always seem to fray near the connector after a few months.

Has anyone found any reliable third-party brands that actually trigger the official fast charging animation on the Ace 5? Or is it safer to just stick with the official OnePlus or Oppo replacement cables, even if they cost a bit more? I really don't want to compromise the battery health or lose out on those 100W speeds.

What are the best high-wattage fast charging cables you’d recommend that are fully compatible with the OnePlus Ace 5?

yo, I totally feel u on this. I tried to save a few bucks last year by getting a generic long cable for my desk, and it literally took 4 hours to charge... super annoying. Basically, OnePlus uses a proprietary protocol, so if the cable doesn't have the right chip, ur stuck with slow speeds. Here's what I recommend after my fail:
* OnePlus+SUPERVOOC+Type-C+to+Type-C+Cable+200cm&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus SUPERVOOC Type-C to Type-C Cable 200cm - It's not braided unfortunately, but it actually hits the 100W speeds safely. It's the only one I trust now.
* Baseus 100W USB C to USB C Cable 2m Braided - This one is way more durable, but tbh, it doesn't always trigger the official animation and usually charges way slower than the original. Honestly, just pay the extra for the official one. I learned the hard way that third-party stuff usually isn't as good as expected for VOOC... it just isn't worth risking the battery health. gl!

Similar situation here - I went through this last year when I moved my desk setup. NGL, I've wasted a ton of cash on 'fast' cables that were basically trash. In my experience, those generic 100W PD cables usually wont trigger the SUPERVOOC animation cuz they lack the specific chip OnePlus+needs&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus needs. Here is what I've tried while trying to save a buck:
- I grabbed the Essager 7A SUPERVOOC USB C Cable 2m Braided for about $7. It's actually survived my cat chewing it and still hits those high speeds.
- I also checked out the Toocki 100W USB C to USB C Cable 2m which was like $5. It's durable but i think it only hit 65W on my unit, so maybe not the full 100W beast you want.
- Honestly, finding an Oppo+100W+SUPERVOOC+Type-A+to+Type-C+Cable+2m&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Oppo 100W SUPERVOOC Type-A to Type-C Cable 2m on clearance for $12 was my best win. It's the same tech, just different branding. Anyway, definitely look for that 7A rating specifically. Good luck!

Late to the party but I had to jump in cuz I've literally been through the same struggle with my Ace. Honestly, it's sooo frustrating when u buy a cable that looks premium but then it just trickles power... like, what's even the point?? In my experience, you highkey need to prioritize safety over saving a few dollars. I had issues with a generic long cable that claimed to be "high wattage" but it made my phone get super hot near the charging port. Not exactly what u want for a brand new Ace 5 lol. If ur looking for that durable braided vibe without losing the SUPERVOOC speeds, here's what I suggest:
* Just get any of the official replacement cables from Oppo. They share the same tech as OnePlus, and honestly, they're the only ones I fully trust for long-term battery health.
* Go with Baseus if u really want a third-party braided option. Just make sure the listing mentions SUPERVOOC specifically, not just generic fast charge or PD.
* Look for cables from brands like Essager that are specifically rated for 10A current. Basically, if the cable doesnt have that specialized chip inside, ur never gonna hit those 100W speeds. It sucks that it's so proprietary, but after ruining a port with a cheap cable last year, I've learned my lesson. It’s better to pay more upfront than to ruin ur battery. Peace!

Building on the earlier suggestion, I'd actually be really careful with some of those third-party brands. I'm a bit of a nerd for specs, and honestly, the voltage drop over a 2-meter cable can be pretty bad if the internal wire gauge isnt heavy enough. Different brands use totally different chipsets for the handshake, and some of them can be pretty unstable.

  • Just search for SUPERVOOC protocol analysis on YouTube to find that one guy who does the detailed teardowns.
  • Check the official manufacturer website because they usually have a whole guide on the technical requirements for 100W speeds.
  • Look at the hardware spreadsheets on Reddit where people have already tested the actual amperage on these long cables. I would suggest looking at that data first so you dont risk your battery.

Reading through this thread just makes my blood boil honestly. We are all basically saying the same thing: you are stuck between a rock and a hard place because of these proprietary standards.

  • It is such a scam that we have to hunt for specific chips just to get the charging speeds we already paid for when we bought the phone.
  • The quality of cables these days is just pathetic. I am so tired of these thin rubber ones that peel and fray after two months of normal use.
  • It drives me crazy that a simple 2-meter braided cable is treated like some rare luxury item. We shouldnt have to spend hours on forums just to figure out how to charge our phones at a decent speed without the cable melting or the speed dropping to a crawl. Basically everyone here has confirmed that the industry is just making things harder for us for no reason other than greed.
