Its basically a handshake between the phone and the bank to negotiate thermal limits. I once tried a high-wattage generic bank that should have been fast on paper, but it kept disconnecting because the voltage regulation was slightly off. From a reliability perspective, youre looking for something that supports the specific amperage that the 12R needs. If the bank doesnt have the right communication chip, the charging controller will just throttle the speed to protect ur dual-cell battery.
