Just picked up the OnePlus Ace 5 and I’m ready to dive into some Genshin and PUBG! I’m looking for a solid USB-C controller that fits snugly and doesn't block the speakers. Also, do I need an external cooler for long sessions? What are the must-have accessories you guys recommend for this specific model?

Quick question—are you looking to keep the budget super low, or can you spend a bit more for quality? In my experience, it's better to get a solid mid-range setup than cheap generic stuff.

1. GameSir X2 Type-C Mobile Gaming Controller - usually around $45. Solid build, won't block speakers, and way cheaper than the high-end stuff.
2. Memo DL05 Phone Cooler - basically $15-20. Ace 5 gets hot in Genshin, so this is a must-have tbh.

Lemme know your budget so I can suggest more!

For your situation, I'd suggest taking a beat before dropping a ton of cash because the OnePlus+Ace+5+is+a+beast&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Ace 5 is a beast, but it can definitely get TOASTY during long Genshin sessions. I've been through a few setups and tbh, you really gotta balance ergonomics with heat management.

Here's what I recommend based on my experience:

1. **The 'Cloud' Approach**: Instead of a wrap-around controller, check out the 8BitDo Pro 2 Bluetooth Controller with a smartphone clip. It feels like a real console controller and doesn't trap heat against the back of the phone like the bridge-style ones do. Plus, it leaves the speakers totally open.

2. **The Budget Cooling Hack**: If you're on a budget, maybe? skip the expensive active coolers for now and try a Benks Magnetic Phone Cooler if you have a MagSafe-compatible case, or just a simple Memo DL05 Phone Cooler. It's literally a lifesaver for PUBG when the frames start dropping. Honestly, you might want to consider a cooler mandatory if you're playing at max settings for more than 30 mins.

3. **The Cable Situation**: Make sure to get a 90-degree cable like the UGREEN Right Angle USB C Cable 6FT if you aren't using a controller with pass-through. It makes holding the phone sooo much more comfortable.

Be careful with the weight tho... a heavy controller + a cooler can make your wrists ache after an hour. I learned that the hard way lol. Good luck with the new rig! 👍

Exactly what I was thinking

yo, congrats on the new phone! honestly, ive been using the ace series for a few years now and one thing i gotta warn u about right away: watch out for those cheap, generic usb-c controllers that dont have a pass-through port. if ur playing stuff like genshin, it drains the battery like crazy and u dont wanna be stuck without a way to charge while playing, right? also, some of those tighter controllers can actually scratch the frame if youre not careful.

anyway, i think you have a few solid ways to go here:

* Option A: The telescopic style (like Gamesir or Backbone). These are great cuz they basically turn ur phone into a handheld console. super comfy for long sessions.
* Option B: A clip-on mount for a standard console controller (like an Xbox or PlayStation one). i find this way more precise for pubg, but it gets kinda top-heavy after a while.
* Option C: Just touch controls with a dedicated cooler. honestly, the ace 5 is powerful but it gets HOT during long sessions.

In my experience, you definitely need an external cooler if you plan on playing for more than 30 mins. i mean, the performance drop once it throttles is realy noticeable. i usually go with a magnetic cooler or one of those clip-on ones from Razer or Black Shark. it keeps the frames stable and saves your battery from the heat. id say the best choice is probably a telescopic controller that leaves enough room for a small cooler on the back. basically the ultimate setup imo. gl!
