Hey everyone! I’m super stoked because I just pulled the trigger on the OnePlus 13, and it should be arriving any day now. This phone looks like an absolute beast, and honestly, after seeing the price tag, I’m a little terrified of dropping it. In the past, I’ve been a bit reckless—my old OnePlus 11 ended up with a nasty spiderweb crack after a minor tumble onto the driveway, and I’m determined not to let history repeat itself with this upgrade.

Since the OnePlus 13 is still quite fresh on the market, I’m seeing a lot of generic brands popping up on Amazon and AliExpress, but I’m really hesitant to trust a $1000+ device to a $5 mystery case. I’m looking for something that strikes a balance between 'tank-like' protection and maintaining the sleek profile of the phone. I’m particularly worried about that massive circular camera housing on the back; I need a case that has a significant enough lip to keep those lenses from touching any surface when I set it down.

On the screen protector side of things, I’m a bit torn. I’ve heard the OnePlus 13 uses a slightly curved 'micro-quad-curved' display, which usually makes finding a good tempered glass protector a total nightmare. I’ve been debating between a standard tempered glass and those liquid UV adhesive ones like Whitestone Dome, but I’m worried about the installation process being too messy. Also, I really need to know if these protectors interfere with the new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor—I've heard some glass can be hit-or-miss with those.

I’m willing to spend a bit more for quality—let’s say up to $50 for a solid case and $30 for a screen protector. Does anyone have experience with brands like Spigen, UAG, or maybe even the official OnePlus Aramid Fiber case?

What are you guys currently using to keep your OnePlus 13 safe, and have you found any specific screen protectors that actually fit perfectly without peeling at the edges?

Curious about one thing: how much bulk can u actually handle? I've had issues with thick cases ruining NFC signals before... 1. Cons: unfortunately lacks a raised camera lip for protection.

Finding a protector for that micro-curve is SO hard. Most glass just wont work with the sensor, unfortunately.

Basically, that new ultrasonic sensor is super picky—thick glass can highkey ruin the fingerprint scanner. I’d suggest the OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Liquid Air Case for OnePlus 13—it’s pretty cheap at $17 and has the deep camera lip you need. For the screen, grab the OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 13. Be careful with the installation though, it’s messy, but it actually fits the micro-curves without peeling. Safest bet for quality. gl!

I spent a bunch of time looking at the market data for the OP13 since the launch. Basically, most brands are struggling with that micro-quad-curve because it isnt quite flat but isnt quite a waterfall either. I looked into the TUDIA DualShield Grip and it seems like a solid middle ground for the camera lip without being as bulky as some of the tank brands mentioned. Tbh the ultrasonic sensor is the biggest hurdle tho. From a technical standpoint, the sensor sends out sound waves that need to bounce back perfectly; if there is even a tiny air gap or if the glass density is too high, the signal attenuates. That is why some people suggest TPU films like the Ibywind Screen Protector kit. It uses a thinner material that doesnt mess with the acoustics as much as tempered glass. I havent fully tested the Caseology Athlex yet but the material specs look decent for drop protection based on the dual-layer composite. I'm a bit uncertain if the cheaper glass sets will hold up over time without lifting on those micro-edges tho.

+1 to what was said earlier! That ultrasonic sensor is no joke. Honestly, if the glass is too thick, its basically game over for fingerprints. I’m currently using the OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Poetic Revolution Case for OnePlus 13 because the 2.5mm raised camera bezel is just *incredible* for protection compared to slim cases. Also, the OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ringke Dual Easy Film Screen Protector for OnePlus 13 handles that micro-quad curve way better than glass without edge lifting. It keeps the sensor working INSTANTLY. gl!

Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷

I've been looking at gear for my own unit all afternoon lol. Since you are worried about that big camera bump and the sensor, I would definitely suggest being careful with standard tempered glass. Here is what I would look at for a solid DIY setup:

  • <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Nillkin+CamShield+Pro+Case+for+ OnePlus+13&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Nillkin CamShield Pro Case for OnePlus 13
  • This has a literal sliding door for the camera housing. It is basically the ultimate protection for those lenses, but make sure to blow out any dust from the tracks occasionally so it does not get stuck. It is way more protective than thin shells but fits better than those massive tank cases.
  • <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Skinomi+TechSkin+Full+Coverage+Film+for+ OnePlus+13&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Skinomi TechSkin Full Coverage Film for OnePlus 13
  • Since this is a wet-install TPU film, it actually hugs those micro-curves perfectly without popping off. I might want to consider this over glass if you are worried about the ultrasonic sensor being finicky. Just be sure to use plenty of the application spray so you do not get bubbles trapped under there. Just a heads up, whatever you pick, make sure to re-register your fingerprints AFTER putting the protector on. Sometimes the sensor gets confused by the change in surface thickness even with thin films so that usually fixes the lag.
