So I finally upgraded to the Nord 4 because I missed that all-metal feel from back in the day, but man, finding accessories for this thing is becoming a total nightmare. Ive been using OnePlus since the early days and usually I just grab whatever generic glass protector is on Amazon and call it a day but the one I just tried is absolute trash. It has these massive lifting edges and doesnt play nice with the proximity sensor at all so my screen stays black during calls. Its driving me insane because Im super careful with my tech but I can already see a tiny micro-scratch near the top corner and Ive only had the phone for four days.
Im also in the market for some new earbuds because my old Buds Z2 are finally giving up the ghost - the left one barely holds a 20 minute charge now. I was looking at the Buds 3 but Ive heard mixed things about the ANC when paired with the newer Nord series specifically. Does anyone know if theres a specific brand of tempered glass that actually covers the whole display without that annoying white halo effect on the sides? I know the screen is flat but these cheap ones never seem to account for the slight curve at the very edge of the bezel.
Im in the UK and really want to get this sorted before I head to Spain for a wedding in two weeks because I know Ill end up dropping it in the sand or something if I dont have a decent setup. My budget is around 80 to 100 quid for both pieces. I dont need top-tier audiophile stuff but I want something that integrates well with the fast pair and doesnt feel like cheap plastic. Should I just stick with the official OnePlus gear or is there a third-party combo that actually works? I am really trying to avoid wasting more money on stuff that doesnt fit...
Had a sec to think about this... just wondering, are you mainly using the buds for calls or just tunes? I've had issues with the mic on some cheaper sets.
Building on the earlier suggestion, I spent ages finding a setup that wouldnt mess with the sensor. Basically Im pretty cautious and hate wasting money on junk. It works fine.
Building on the earlier suggestion, it seems like weve looked at everything from the official OnePlus+glass+to+the+Spigen&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus glass to the Spigen and Sony alternatives. Its basically a choice between spending more for guaranteed fit or going third-party to save some cash for your Spain trip. I once took a brand new phone to the coast without a proper protector and a single grain of sand ruined my week... those micro-scratches are a total pain once you see them. Safety for the screen is honestly my top priority when traveling because a cracked display abroad is a nightmare to fix. For my money, I prioritize the seal and the sensor clearance because like you said, the black screen during calls is a dealbreaker. I did a similar hunt for my brothers phone recently and we found a setup that handles the travel abuse really well without the usual lifting issues.
