Hey everyone! I finally upgraded to the OnePlus 12, and man, that display is absolutely gorgeous. However, I’m a bit paranoid about keeping it pristine. Since it has those curved edges, finding a tempered glass protector that actually fits well and doesn't lift after two days is proving to be a bit of a challenge.

I’ve been browsing online and some of the generic brands have really mixed reviews. I'm specifically looking for something that won't interfere with the in-display fingerprint sensor, as that's a total dealbreaker for me. I’m also a bit nervous about the UV glue kits—I’ve heard they offer the best clarity and fit for curved screens, but the installation seems pretty intimidating and messy. On the other hand, the traditional adhesive ones often have that annoying "halo" effect or just don't cover the curves properly.

I’m planning to pair it with a Spigen Liquid Air case, so the protector needs to be case-friendly and not get pushed up at the corners. Has anyone found a specific brand that fits perfectly without bubbles? I’d love to hear if you recommend a particular UV glue kit or if there’s a high-quality dry-install glass that actually stays put on those edges!

sooo i totally feel u on the curved screen struggle lol. i've tried a couple and here's what i found: 1. OnePlus+12&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 12 - it's pricey but basically the best fit. fits my OnePlus+12&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Liquid Air Case for OnePlus 12 perfectly and the fingerprint sensor actually works!!
2. OnePlus+12&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Mowei UV Tempered Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 12 - a decent cheaper option. installation is messy tho, so be careful... honestly UV glue is the only way to go for the OP12 edges imo. gl!

Totally agree! If youre on a budget, OnePlus+12&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Akcoo UV Screen Protector for OnePlus 12 is way cheaper than those mentioned and works realy well; maybe that would fit your needs?

> "Whitestone Dome Glass... is pricey but basically the best fit." Just sharing my experience: I was super nervous about UV glue, but dry-install glass usually leaves a gap that ruins the fingerprint sensor refraction. I tried the OnePlus+12&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Mowei 3-Pack UV Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 12 and it's actually pretty solid. Just be careful to *tape* your speakers first because that glue might leak everywhere if you aren't level... it's pretty messy but worth it tho!

Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in since I have tested a bunch of these. Basically, everyone is right that UV glue is the industry standard for curved glass if you want that fingerprint sensor to actually work. If you are looking for that sweet spot between performance and price, here is what I have found:

  • You dont need to drop big money on premium brands. In my real world testing, the glass hardness and clarity on the cheaper kits are nearly identical to the expensive ones.
  • I suggest looking at IMLUCKY UV Glass Screen Protector as a solid budget alternative. It handles impact just as well and usually comes in a multi-pack so you have room for error.
  • For the best fingerprint performance, always re-register your prints after the install is fully cured. It makes a huge difference in unlock speed and accuracy.
  • Make sure the kit you buy includes at least two tubes of LOCA glue. Having a backup is a lifesaver if you dont get the spread right the first time. Honestly, as long as you follow the prep advice like taping the ports and leveling the phone, the cheaper kits perform just as well as the high end stuff without the brand name markup.

Tbh as someone who's been rocking curved displays since the early S-series days, the "mess" is usually just a lack of prep. The real reason UV (LOCA) is the industry standard for the OP12 isn't just the fit, it's about the "refractive index." Dry-mount glass with side-only adhesive leaves an air gap that creates light diffraction, which is why the optical fingerprint sensor struggles to read your print through the glass. I've been using the Supershieldz UV Tempered Glass Screen Protector for a while now and the long-term durability is solid. One expert tip: most people under-cure the adhesive. If you want it to survive the tight lip of a Spigen case, I'd suggest doing three full 120-second passes with the UV lamp. It ensures the bond is fully polymerized at the edges so it doesnt lift when the case flexes. Also, keep an eye on the "yellowing" over months; higher-end kits use better photo-initiators that stay clear. Its definitely a learning curve but once you go UV, you basically cant go back to regular protectors!!!

I've been doing my own screen installs for years and honestly, the UV kits are the only thing that actually stay on these curved displays. I remember my first time being sooo nervous about the glue getting into the buttons or the earpiece. It's reallyyy about the preparation rather than the specific kit tbh. If your gonna do it yourself, keep these in mind:
* Find a totally level surface (use a bubble level app if you have to).
* Tape off every single port and hole with masking tape before you start.
* Work in a room with zero airflow so dust doesnt settle while the glue is wet. Just pick up a kit from any of the big reputable UV brands that includes a full alignment jig and you'll be fine. Having that frame makes it basically foolproof as long as you dont rush the curing process. It definitely beats paying a shop to do a subpar job!
