Hey everyone! I just finally pulled the trigger and picked up the OnePlus 12R in that gorgeous Cool Blue color. This is my first time back with a OnePlus device after a few years with other brands, and I'm absolutely loving the performance so far. The screen is stunning, but that curved glass always makes me a bit nervous about drops and scratches.

I really want to make sure I protect this thing without ruining the look or the functionality. I've been looking around for recommendations on a few specific things:

  • A screen protector that actually stays on with those curved edges
  • A case that offers decent protection but still shows off the blue finish
  • Any portable power banks that actually support the high-speed SuperVOOC charging

Since the 12R has that massive 5500mAh battery and uses the proprietary fast charging, I'm worried about buying a random cable or brick that might slow things down. I’ve seen some talk about the official Sandstone cases, but I'm curious if they feel too bulky in the hand. Also, if anyone has found a car charger that works well with the 80W or 100W speeds, I'd love to hear about it.

I’m trying to get a solid kit together so I can just enjoy the phone without stressing. What are your absolute must-have accessories for the OnePlus 12R?

I've been around the OnePlus+block+since+the+OP3&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus block since the OP3 days, and while I get why people say stick to official gear, I'm gonna politely disagree that it's the only safe way to go. You just have to be picky about the specs. Most clear cases like the Spigen ones usually yellow pretty fast in my experience. If you want something that stays clear longer and handles drops better, I'd suggest the OnePlus+12R&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Poetic Guardian Series Case for OnePlus 12R. It's got a scratch-resistant clear back and the bumper is much more solid for those accidental tumbles. For that curved screen, definitely skip the cheap film protectors. They always peel at the edges within a month because of the friction. I swear by UV glue protectors now. The OnePlus+12R&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Akcoo UV Liquid Tempered Glass Screen Protector 2-Pack for OnePlus 12R is a bit of a project to install, but once it's on, it stays put and feels exactly like the original glass. Just watch a video tutorial first so you dont get glue in the earpiece. As for the power bank, finding third-party ones with actual SuperVOOC support is like hunting for a unicorn. If you really want those insane speeds on the go, the only real choice is the OnePlus+100W+SuperVOOC+Power+Bank+12000mAh&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus 100W SuperVOOC Power Bank 12000mAh. It is pricey, but it's the only way to get that 0 to 100% in under 30 minutes away from a wall. Honestly though, with that 5500mAh battery, you'll probably end the day with 30% left anyway, so maybe see how the battery life treats you before dropping the cash on a bank!

Quick reply while I have a sec! I actually have a slightly different take than the first post. While official chargers are great, you dont always have to pay the OnePlus+tax+to+get+those+spe&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus tax to get those speeds. Since Oppo+and+OnePlus+use+the&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Oppo and OnePlus use the same tech, the Oppo+80W+SuperVOOC+Car+Charger&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Oppo 80W SuperVOOC Car Charger is a literal life saver and often cheaper than the OnePlus+branded+one&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus branded one. For the screen, tempered glass on curved edges is usually a disaster. I usually skip the glass and go with the OnePlus+12R&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Skinomi TechSkin Screen Protector for OnePlus 12R. Its a TPU film that uses a wet install, which sounds scary but it honestly sticks to the curves way better than any glass ever will. If you want to show off the blue color but hate the bulk of the sandstone case, check out the OnePlus+12R&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear Case for OnePlus 12R. It has way better corner protection than the generic ones but doesnt hide the design.

Congrats on the 12R, that blue is honestly stunning. Since youre worried about the battery health and that high-speed charging, my biggest tip is to stick strictly to official hardware. 100W SuperVOOC is no joke and third-party chargers often lack the proper thermal management, which can degrade your battery way faster than it should. I highly recommend the OnePlus+SuperVOOC+80W+Power+Bank+12000mAh&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus SuperVOOC 80W Power Bank 12000mAh specifically because it uses the proprietary protocol safely. For a case that protects those curved edges without hiding the color, the OnePlus+12R+Crystal+Clear&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ringke Fusion Case for OnePlus 12R Crystal Clear is a great choice. It has a decent lip to protect the screen during face-down drops. Tbh, just keep the factory screen protector on as long as possible because finding a replacement that actually stays glued to the curves is a massive headache.

> A screen protector that actually stays on with those curved edges Building on the earlier suggestion, I've had some pretty bad luck with the accessories I picked up at first. I'm still kind of new to the curved screen thing and I tried a few of those cheap film protectors from random sellers, but unfortunately, they just didnt hold up. They started peeling off the edges after barely a week of being in my pocket. It was honestly such a waste of money and super disappointing. Coming back to this, if you want something that actually stays put, I'd say just go with Whitestone Glass. They're a bit more expensive and the install looks like a science experiment, but they're the only ones I've found that dont lift. For the charging situation, I actually had issues with a generic car charger that claimed to be fast but barely kept the battery level steady while I was using maps. It was really not as good as I expected. Now I basically just stick to <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw= OnePlus+SuperVOOC+Chargers&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus SuperVOOC Chargers for everything because at least I know the tech is reliable. Sometimes trying to save money on the small stuff just causes more stress than it's worth...
