Hey everyone. I just picked up the OnePlus 12R and I am absolutely loving the display so far, but honestly, it makes me so nervous. The curved edges look great but they always seem to be a nightmare when it comes to finding a good screen protector. The one that comes pre-applied is already starting to show some light scratches and it feels a bit plasticky, so I am looking to upgrade to something more durable.

I have had some bad luck in the past with curved screens where the glass either pops off after a week or leaves those annoying air bubbles along the sides. I really want something that is high quality and won't ruin the sleek feel of the device. I'm especially worried about finding a fit that works with the specific dimensions of this model. Specifically, I am looking for something that:

  • Has a solid adhesive that won't lift at the corners
  • Doesn't interfere with the in-display fingerprint scanner
  • Is compatible with most standard cases without peeling

I have seen a few different options online like the UV glue kits or the simple dry-apply ones, but I am worried about the glue getting into the earpiece or the touch sensitivity getting wonky. I really want to keep this screen pristine while I still can. Does anyone have a specific brand or model they have been using on their 12R that they would actually recommend?

Adding my two cents on the technical side. If you are worried about reliability, you really need to look at the LOCA (Liquid Optical Clear Adhesive) quality. I recommend OnePlus+12R&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">amFilm OneTouch UV Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 12R because the kit comes with a solid alignment jig that keeps the 0.33mm thickness profile consistent across those curved edges. Quick tip for safety: always use masking tape to cover the earpiece grille and the alert slider before starting. It prevents any liquid from seeping into the chassis. Also, ensure your desk is 100% level. Even a tiny tilt makes the glue pool unevenly, which messes up the fingerprint sensor's optical refraction. This glass has a 9H hardness rating, so it handles daily wear much better than that stock plastic film.

Congrats on the 12R! Honestly, I have been using phones with curved screens for years and I totally get the anxiety. You dont need to drop fifty bucks on those big name UV kits though, thats just marketing fluff imo. I usually go for the OnePlus+12R+2-Pack&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ibywind Tempered Glass for OnePlus 12R 2-Pack because it is way more budget friendly and honestly works just as well. You get two in the box for a fraction of the price of the premium brands. The adhesive is solid and I havent had any issues with the fingerprint scanner being laggy at all. Just a pro tip: use the little stickers they give you to cover the buttons and earpiece before you drop the glue. It saves you so much stress. If you mess up the first install, you still have a backup without having to spend more money. Definitely the best bang for your buck.

Honestly, curved edges are the absolute worst for my wallet. I've wasted so much money on glass that just pops off. Just get something from Spigen, they're usually super reliable.

Can vouch for this

I have tried everything on curved glass over the years and UV glue is basically the gold standard for that naked screen feel. I used to be terrified of the glue getting into the earpiece too, but if you tape off the ports it is a breeze. I swear by the OnePlus+12&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 12 for my phones. It is pricey but the fingerprint sensor works way better than those cheap side-adhesive versions.
