Just got my Nord 5 for work but my old chargers take forever. I saw online that some people use Anker PD blocks but then others say only the official SuperVOOC stuff actually hits the 80w speed.
Im kinda confused if third party cables even work... what are you guys using that doesnt cost a fortune?
The charging lock-in on these is a total letdown. I tried using expensive PD blocks and the speeds were just pathetic. You basically waste money on third-party gear if you want real speed. I ended up buying the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw= OnePlus+SuperVOOC+100W+Dual+Port+Power+Adapter&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus SuperVOOC 100W Dual Port Power Adapter just to be safe.
@Reply #1 - good point! Battery health is the real concern when you are messing with high-wattage tech like this. I have spent way too much money testing different bricks and it basically comes down to safety vs speed. Here is what I found works for the Nord:

Hey there, congrats on the new phone! Honestly, the charging situation on the Nord is a bit of a headache if you dont stick to their specific tech. I was pretty worried about frying my battery with some random cheap cable when I first got mine, so I did a ton of research. Most of those Anker PD blocks are great for laptops or iPhones, but they wont give you that crazy 80w speed you're looking for because OnePlus uses a proprietary standard. I'm super satisfied with staying official just for the peace of mind. It works well. No complaints. The phone never gets scary hot like it did with my old generic stuff. Here is what I am using right now:
