Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the OnePlus 13, and I am beyond excited to get my hands on it. I’m upgrading from an older OnePlus 9 Pro, and while I love the look of the new design, I’m honestly a bit terrified of dropping it. That massive circular camera array on the back looks amazing, but it also looks like a magnet for scratches if I’m not careful.
I’ve been scouring the usual sites looking for protection, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options—or lack thereof—for a brand-new release. I’m looking for a balance between something that isn't too bulky but still offers solid drop protection. In the past, I’ve used the official Sandstone cases which I love for the grip, but I’m worried they might not provide enough cushioning for the corners if it hits the pavement. Has anyone seen any rugged cases from brands like Spigen or UAG that are confirmed to fit the OP13's specific dimensions yet?
Also, I’m particularly concerned about the screen protector. With the rumors of the new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, I’m hesitant to just buy any random tempered glass off Amazon. I’ve had issues in the past where the glass was too thick and the sensor wouldn't read my thumbprint half the time. Does anyone know of a high-quality tempered glass or even a good TPU film that is guaranteed to work with the biometric sensor without lag?
I’m willing to spend around $50-$60 for a high-quality combo because I’d much rather invest in good protection now than deal with the heartbreak (and cost) of a cracked screen or a shattered lens later. I’d love to hear what you guys are planning to use or if you’ve found any hidden gems during your search. What do you think are the absolute best protective cases and screen protectors currently available for the OnePlus 13?
Here's what I recommend:
- OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Liquid Air Case for OnePlus 13
- Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector
It works perfectly with that sensor... I'm super satisfied! 👍
> "i think it’s way more cost-effective to: - use a flexible film instead of glass" Respectfully, I'd actually suggest a different approach. I totally get the cost-effective angle, but if youre honestly "terrified" of drops like you mentioned, a TPU film basically does zero for impact protection... it really only stops surface scratches. From a safety-first perspective, you gotta go with glass for that peace of mind. I’ve been comparing a few setups, and honestly, these are the best bets: - OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Poetic Revolution Case for OnePlus 13: This is a tank. PROS: Insane corner protection and a built-in kickstand. CONS: It’s definitely bulky.
- OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ringke Fusion-X for OnePlus 13: PROS: Much slimmer, has a cool rugged aesthetic, and great grip. CONS: Not as heavy-duty as the Poetic. For the sensor, I’d grab the OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 13. It’s specifically designed to be compatible with ultrasonic scanners, so it shouldn't lag at all. Seriously, dont risk a $900 phone on a cheap film! Just my two cents tho. gl! 👍
Respectfully, I'd consider another option. I've been reading that the new ultrasonic sensor might not play nice with some of the thicker glass protectors out there. Before you pull the trigger, are you prioritizing heavy-duty corner protection or do you want to keep it slim? Also, are you looking for a specific texture for grip? I'm still figuring out the OP13 myself, but I've seen a few alternatives... basically just curious!!
In my experience, it really sucks spending $60 just to have the sensor fail... i once bought a super expensive glass kit that was just too thick and it was so disappointing. i think it’s way more cost-effective to: - use a flexible film instead of glass
- grab a case with extra corner padding
- avoid the big name-brand markups basically, my current setup cost half that and actually works. good luck!
Just saw this thread and congrats on the new phone... the OnePlus 13 looks like a beast. In my experience, you dont really need to drop sixty bucks to keep your phone safe. Ive tried so many brands over the years and the big names usually just charge a premium for marketing when the smaller brands use the same materials. Before I list a few specific budget gems tho, do you usually keep your phone in a tight pocket or a bag? That really changes how much bulk you can realistically handle without it getting annoying. If you want that Sandstone feel but with actual drop protection, I usually go for the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Ringke+Onyx+for+ OnePlus+13&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ringke Onyx for OnePlus 13. It has that great sandpaper texture but the corners are way beefier than the official ones. For the screen, I usually skip the expensive glass kits and grab a multipack of <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Supershieldz+ OnePlus+13+High+Definition+Clear+Shield&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Supershieldz OnePlus 13 High Definition Clear Shield. They are super thin so the ultrasonic sensor never trips up, and you get like three of them for super cheap. Honestly, spending the extra cash on a good charging brick makes more sense than a $50 glass slab that might just crack anyway if you look at it wrong.
Good to know!
