I just pre-ordered the OnePlus 13, and honestly, I’m a bit nervous about handling it without some solid protection. This phone is a massive investment, and with that beautiful new display and the unique circular camera housing, the last thing I want is to see a scratch—or worse, a crack—within the first week. I’ve always been a bit clumsy, especially when trying to take photos one-handed, so finding the right case is my top priority before the phone even arrives.

I’ve been looking around, but since the device is so new, the market feels a bit flooded with generic options, and I’m having trouble telling what’s actually high-quality. I’m really looking for something that balances protection with aesthetics. I don't want a brick in my pocket, but I also don't trust those paper-thin silicone skins to save the phone from a drop on the sidewalk.

Specifically, I’m curious if anyone has found a case that has a significant lip around that massive camera module. I’m also interested in hearing if there are any textured or 'sandstone' style cases available yet that provide a really good grip, as I’ve heard the back glass can be pretty slippery. My budget is flexible—I’m willing to spend up to $50 for something that actually lasts and doesn't yellow over time.

Has anyone had a chance to test out any of the early releases from brands like Spigen, Caseology, or even the official OnePlus bumper cases? Which ones offer the best corner protection without adding too much bulk to the phone's profile?

Honestly, I've been through this cycle for years and most 'premium' cases aren't worth the $50 premium. Unfortunately, I've had issues with official ones peeling after six months.

So basically, just grab the OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Liquid Air for OnePlus 13. It's usually under $20 and the military-grade drop protection is legit. If you want better grip, OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Caseology Athlex for OnePlus 13 has that textured 'sandstone' feel with a massive camera lip for way less than the official bumper.

TL;DR: Don't overspend; Spigen or Caseology offer better technical protection for half the price. Peace.

Honestly, spending $50 on a case is usually a waste. I've had issues with the official ones falling apart way too fast, ngl. Since you want that camera lip and a solid grip without the bulk, look at the OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ringke Fusion-X for OnePlus 13. It's super rugged on the corners and usually under $15. If you want that textured feel, the OnePlus+13&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">TUDIA DualShield Grip for OnePlus 13 is basically the goat for preventing slips. Both are way cheaper and actually last!!

@Reply #5 - good point! Honestly though, I have had issues with those full-body kits lately. They usually turn a sleek flagship into a literal brick and the screen sensitivity ends up being total trash. It is kinda disappointing how hard it is to find a middle ground that doesnt ruin the vibe of the phone. Since you are worried about the camera lip and grip, I usually go a bit more DIY and combine a high-quality skin with a minimalist case. Tbh the glass on these new models is slicker than a wet bar of soap. I have been testing the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=dbrand+Grip+Case+ OnePlus+13&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">dbrand Grip Case OnePlus 13 and it is probably the only one that actually stays grippy over time without feeling like cheap rubber. If you want something even thinner that still feels premium, look at the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Latercase+Cyber+Edition+ OnePlus+13&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Latercase Cyber Edition OnePlus 13. It is made of aramid fiber so it is basically paper-thin but tough as nails against scratches, though it wont survive a massive drop as well as a thicker bumper. TL;DR: Skip the generic bulky plastics. So basically, I’ve been researching the technical specs for the OnePlus 13 protection since I’m also a bit of a newbie with these high-end flagships. If you’re into a more hands-on or "DIY" approach to protection, there are a couple of cool options that haven't been mentioned yet. * Poetic Guardian Case - This one is interesting because it’s basically a full-body kit. It comes with two different front frames, so you can choose between a built-in screen protector or just an open frame. It has a HUGE lip for the camera module and the corner bumpers are really dense.
* dbrand Grip Case - If you want that textured feel, this is probably the goat. You actually apply the vinyl skin yourself, which is kind of fun. Tbh, the technical specs on the "micro-dots" for grip are supposed to be insane so it won't slide off a table. I’m still learning about all the drop-test ratings, but these two seem to offer WAY more protection than those basic skins. idk if you like the industrial look though? Anyway, the Poetic one is great if you want that 360-degree seal without paying a pro to install a separate screen protector.

oh man, i totally get the anxiety. i pre-ordered the last couple OnePlus phones and honestly, the official sandstone bumper is usually my go-to for grip, but the protection on the corners is kinda mid. i actually had a bad drop with my old one and it didnt end well... super frustrating.

anyway, for the 13, are you looking for a clear case to show off the color, or do you prefer something more rugged like a textured black finish? also, does the weight of the case matter much to you?

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.
