Hey everyone! I recently made the jump to the OnePlus 11, and so far, I am absolutely blown away by the speed and that gorgeous display. The Hasselblad camera has been a blast to experiment with, but I’ve run into a bit of a dilemma regarding my audio setup. My old pair of wireless earbuds is finally on its last legs—the battery barely lasts an hour now—and I’m looking to invest in a high-quality replacement that really complements this specific phone.

Since the OnePlus 11 supports advanced tech like LHDC 5.0 and Bluetooth 5.3, I really want to find a pair of buds that can actually take advantage of those high-res codecs. I’ve obviously looked at the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 because they seem to be the 'intended' companion, and the promise of integrated spatial audio and seamless fast pairing is definitely tempting. However, I’ve also seen some amazing reviews for the Sony WF-1000XM5s and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra series.

I’m a bit torn because I’m worried that if I go with a third-party brand, I might miss out on those 'ecosystem' perks like the specialized low-latency mode for gaming or the easy firmware updates through the phone's oxygenOS settings. I do a lot of commuting on noisy trains, so top-tier Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is a non-negotiable for me. I also find myself switching between my phone and my laptop quite often, so reliable multipoint connection is high on my wishlist.

I’m curious to hear from fellow OnePlus 11 owners—what are you currently using? Have you found that sticking with OnePlus-branded audio provides a significantly better experience in terms of connectivity and features, or is the sound quality and ANC on the high-end Sony or Bose alternatives worth potentially losing that tight integration? I’d love to hear your recommendations and any pros/cons you've noticed with your current setup!

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, sticking with the same brand is basically the safest way to ensure everything just *works* without weird glitches. I'm kinda a beginner with all these high-res codecs, but I’ve found that using the "intended" gear saves so much frustration... Anyway, I really value reliability because I hate it when tech fails on me mid-commute. Here’s why I think staying in the ecosystem is the smart, safe move: - **Reliability:** With the OnePlus+Buds+Pro+2&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Buds Pro 2 (around $179), you don't have to worry about third-party apps crashing or pairing drops.
- **Safe Updates:** Firmware updates happen right in your OxygenOS settings. It feels way safer than using a buggy third-party app for the Sony WF-1000XM5.
- **Battery Sync:** Official buds usually play nicer with the phone's power management, so it wont kill ur phone battery as fast. The OnePlus+Buds+3&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Buds 3 at $99 are also a great "budget" safety net if you're worried about price. But yeah... for that train ANC, the Pro 2 is the way to go. gl!

+1 to what was said earlier about the OnePlus+Buds+Pro+2&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Buds Pro 2! I've spent years testing gear and ngl, I used to waste money on pricey third-party buds. - Try the OnePlus+Buds+3&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Buds 3 for value.
- You keep LHDC 5.0 and fast pairing.
- Cheaper than the Sony WF-1000XM5. Lesson learned: sticking with the ecosystem saves cash and you dont have firmware headaches. tbh it's just easier.

Yeah I get the hesitation about going third-party. Honestly if you really value that stable connection during a commute, you might want to look at the OPPO+Enco+X2&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OPPO Enco X2 as a weirdly perfect alternative. Since they are under the same parent company, the integration with the OnePlus 11 is basically identical to the first-party buds. You wont lose that low-latency mode or the high-res LHDC 5.0 stability, which can sometimes be a bit hit or miss on the Sony WF-1000XM5 when you are moving through areas with lots of interference. Just a couple of quick tips for keeping things reliable:

  • Keep the dual-connection feature turned off if you are in a high-interference area like a train station to prevent audio stutters.
  • Make sure you calibrate the Golden Sound or hearing profile right away because it helps the buds maintain a more consistent output even if the fit isnt 100 percent perfect during your walk. Basically, staying within that BBK hardware family is the safest bet if you dont want to deal with weird Bluetooth drops or app crashes.

Just catching up on this thread. Like someone mentioned, the ecosystem stuff is convenient, but unfortunately, I found the noise cancelling on the OnePlus+Buds+Pro+2&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Buds Pro 2 to be pretty mid when things actually get loud. It was not as good as expected for a 'pro' model, especially for commuting. If you are stuck on a train every day, here is the direct reality:

  • Grab the Sony WF-1000XM5 or even the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds.
  • Use the dedicated apps instead of the OxygenOS settings since they have way more tuning options.
  • Dont stress about LHDC because LDAC is basically just as stable on the OP11 anyway. Honestly, I have had better luck with third-party reliability once you get past the initial pairing. The seamless experience isnt worth it if you can still hear the train tracks over your music. Its kinda disappointing that the first-party buds still cant match the heavy hitters for pure ANC power.
