Hey, anyone seen any good deals on the Z Fold7 lately? Hoping to snag one when they launch. Looking for unlocked, and aiming for around $1500. Any leads?

Ok so, I've been digging into the technical side of the new fold because my current setup has been such a journey with compatibility. Its one thing to find a deal, but if the fitment and data protocols dont align with your existing gear, your basically throwing money away. - The aspect ratio on my previous unit was a nightmare for my specific dev environment - things reallyyy wouldnt scale right on the inner display.
- My high-speed cables had a weird handshake issue where the throughput would drop to USB 2.0 speeds for no reason during file transfers.
- Even the physical fitment in my workspace mount was off by just a few millimeters, which messed with the inductive charging alignment. So honestly, I learned the hard way that the 'best price' isn't just the sticker cost - it's whether the hardware actually talks to the rest of my tech stack. I'm superrr hoping the 7 has better tolerances for legacy peripherals than the one I got last time!

Exactly what I was thinking

Would love to know this too

Heard the Z Folds can be fragile. I'd wait for real-world reviews, honestly. My Galaxy S9 still works great, and it was only $700 new back in the day. Maybe stick with what you know?

Z Fold7's hinge might stress with car mounts; consider rugged Samsung XCover instead.

Honestly, wait for OnePlus. Foldable prices usually drop 6 months post-launch.

Hold off on the Z Fold7 at launch. Early adopter prices are always inflated. For $1500, you could almost snag a used but excellent condition Z Fold5 a few months after the 7 hits the market. Patience pays off – think of it as finding the perfect, slightly-used sports car deal!

Forget deals; prioritize phone safety, especially while driving. Z Foldables are fragile. Consider a durable case and hands-free mount. Distracted driving fines outweigh any $100 discount. Think safety first, then price.

Forget deals! Z Fold screens are DIY-able. iFixit kits are around $300, happy with mine.
