Hey everyone, I just finally pulled the trigger on the new Galaxy S25 and I am beyond excited to get my hands on it! However, I’ve realized my old reliable Galaxy Buds Pro—the first generation ones—are basically on their last legs. The battery barely lasts through my morning commute anymore, and the left earbud has started making this weird whistling sound whenever the ANC is turned on.
Since I’m upgrading my phone, I figured it’s the perfect time to refresh my audio setup too. I really want something that complements the S25 perfectly. I’ve always appreciated how the Samsung ecosystem works together, especially the 'Auto Switch' feature between my phone and my Galaxy Tab, but I’m wondering if I should stick with Samsung or finally branch out to other brands.
I’ve been eyeing the Galaxy Buds3 Pro because of the refreshed design and the promised improvements in the Samsung Seamless Codec (SSC). I’ve heard that the high-bitrate audio on the newer Galaxy hardware is a game changer. On the other hand, I see everyone raving about the Sony WF-1000XM5s for their industry-leading noise cancellation. Since I spend about two hours a day on a noisy train, that’s a massive selling point for me. I’m also looking at the Bose QuietComfort Ultras, but I'm worried about losing out on those 'exclusive' Samsung features like 360 audio or the easy pairing.
I’m a bit of a stickler for call quality as well. I often have to take quick work calls while I’m walking through the city, so I need mics that can actually filter out wind and traffic noise effectively. My budget is pretty flexible—I’m willing to spend around $250-$300 if the quality and longevity are actually there.
Has anyone here already started testing different flagship buds with their S25? Specifically, does the integration with the Buds3 Pro offer enough unique 'magic' to justify staying in the ecosystem, or am I better off going with a specialized audio brand for better sound stage and ANC? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Respectfully, I'd consider another option! I love the ecosystem, but for a 2-hour train ride, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro ANC just cant touch the Sony WF-1000XM5 or the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. The Sonys have a killer soundstage, but the Bose are legit kings of silence. You lose that Auto Switch mentioned earlier, but for $250-300, getting actual peace is highkey worth it!! GL
id suggest Sennheiser+MOMENTUM+True+Wireless+4&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4. transparency mode is vital for safety on ur commute, and theyre way more reliable for calls without that whistling issue. seriouslyyy good choice!

Basically, I'd say stick with Samsung! In my experience:
- Go with Samsung because that ecosystem magic is honestly unbeatable for switching devices...
- You're gonna love how fast they pair with ur S25!
- Tbh, you get way better value for your $250 than branching out - it just works better.
Staying in the family is just soooo much easier lol. gl!

Ok so, I literally just went through this exact same dilemma a few weeks ago after my old pair started acting up. Honestly, I thought I was ready to jump ship and try some high-end gear from Sony because everyone hypes up their noise canceling so much. I spent a pretty penny on their latest flagship buds, but unfortunately, it was NOT as good as I expected for my daily routine.
The technical side of things is where it gets frustrating. While the sound stage was wide, the integration with my Galaxy device felt... clunky? I missed that "magic" where things just work. I had issues with the connection dropping in crowded areas, probably cuz I wasnt using the Samsung codec. Ngl, I ended up returning them. It turns out that staying with Samsung is basically the only way to keep that seamless switching between your S25 and Tab. I tried to make the "specialized audio brand" thing work, but the way Samsung handles high-bitrate audio with their own hardware is just SO much more stable.
Also, for your train commute, the ANC on the newer Samsung models has actually caught up quite a bit. My lesson learned? Dont let the "audiophile" hype trick you into giving up the ecosystem features. Youll highkey regret losing the Auto Switch and the mic integration for those city walks. Just go with the latest flagship from Samsung—you wont get the whistling bug anymore and the call quality is way more reliable for work calls than the competitors I tried. gl! peace
