Hey everyone! I just upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and I’m absolutely loving the screen and camera, but I’ve quickly realized my old car mount just isn’t going to cut it anymore. This phone is significantly larger and heavier than my previous device, and I’m genuinely worried about it shaking loose or falling off while I’m driving, especially on some of the bumpy roads in my area.
I’m looking for something that is exceptionally sturdy. Since the S24 Ultra is such a beast, I’m torn between a dashboard suction mount or a vent clip, but I’m leaning away from vents because I don't want them to sag under the weight. I’ve also started using a MagSafe-compatible case for the first time with this phone, so if anyone has recommendations for a magnetic mount that is strong enough to hold this specific model securely without it sliding off, that would be amazing. Fast wireless charging is another big plus for me, as using GPS tends to drain my battery pretty quickly during my commute.
Does anyone have a specific brand or model they’ve been using with their Ultra that stays rock-solid? I’d really appreciate any suggestions on what’s actually durable enough for a phone of this size!
Similar situation here - I realized pretty quickly that the Ultra is basically a tank. I mean, regular magnets just wont hold it on bumpy roads, so I looked for N52 magnet specs. I eventually tried the ESR Qi2 Magnetic Car Phone Mount and its actually been super solid. It delivers 15W fast charging which is huge for GPS drain, plus the dashboard suction is way stronger than generic brands ive used... gl!
So yeah, I totally get the struggle with the S24 Ultra. Honestly, that thing is literally a brick... in a good way, but my old setup definitely couldnt handle the weight. I actually tried a generic vent mount first and it was a total disaster; the S24 Ultra weighs about 232 grams, and my vents just folded under the pressure. It was super disappointing... For your situation, I would suggest looking at the ESR 15W MagSafe Car Mount with CryoBoost. I’ve been using it for a few months now. It uses a suction cup with an adhesive gel that actually sticks to textured dashboards, which is huge cuz the Ultra is so heavy. Technically, it uses N52 magnets that are rated for high holding force, so it lowkey feels rock-solid even on gravel roads. One thing tho—the "fast" wireless charging is kinda tricky. Even tho it's marketed as 15W, Samsung usually throttles third-party MagSafe chargers to around 7.5W or 10W. It's not as good as expected compared to wired charging, but it'll basically stop your battery from draining while using GPS. I also had issues with the iOttie Velox Magnetic Dash Mount being a bit too flimsy for my taste, so avoid that one for this specific phone. Maybe check out the Spigen OneTap Pro 3 Dashboard MagFit too if you want something with a reallyyy strong arm. Anyway, definitely go with a dash suction over a vent clip for this beast. Hope that helps! Are you using a specific brand of MagSafe case right now? gl!
Soo, unfortunately I've had some issues with mounts failing lately, which is honestly scary with such an expensive phone... safety is priority #1! You might find this useful—I’ve been comparing these two: 1. iOttie Easy One Touch 6 Dash & Windshield Mount: Suction is basically permanent, though no MagSafe.
2. Lisen MagSafe Car Mount 15W Charger: It has a metal hook so it wont sag. Pro tip: check "RTINGS" for their heavy-phone stress tests. i think they're helpful! gl!
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, i tried going cheap at first but this phone is literally a tank. I eventually grabbed a heavy-duty dash suction mount and it’s been rock-solid. It cost me like $25, which is a total steal compared to replacing a cracked screen... my current setup holds the weight perfectly and charges fast too. Definitely worth spending a bit more for the peace of mind! 👍
