Hey everyone! I’m super excited because I’ve finally decided to pull the trigger and upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. This is going to be my first foray into the world of foldables, and while I’m pumped about that massive inner screen, I’ve realized I’m a bit behind on my charging gear. Since Samsung stopped including the power brick in the box a while ago, I’m stuck looking at my drawer of old USB-A chargers and realizing they probably won't cut it for a device this advanced.

I want to make sure I’m getting the absolute best charging speeds possible without compromising the long-term health of the battery. I’ve been reading up on it, but I’m honestly a little overwhelmed by all the technical jargon. I know I need something that supports PPS (Programmable Power Supply) to hit those "Super Fast Charging 2.0" speeds, but every time I search on Amazon, I get a million results from brands I’ve never heard of.

I’m specifically looking for a reliable 45W wall brick that isn’t too bulky—maybe one of those GaN (Gallium Nitride) ones if they’re actually worth the hype? Also, I really need recommendations for high-quality cables. The ones that come in the box are usually a bit too short for me. I’d love to find a durable, braided 6-foot or even 10-foot cable that actually supports the high wattage needed for the Fold 7 so I can comfortably use the tablet mode while sitting on my couch.

Budget isn't a huge deal, but I’d prefer not to spend $50 on a single cable if there are better value options out there that are just as safe. Does anyone have a specific setup they swear by for their Fold? I’d love to hear which brands (Anker, Ugreen, Samsung official, etc.) you guys think offer the most consistent speeds and best build quality. What are your go-to chargers and cables for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to keep it topped up quickly?

Sooo I've been rocking Folds since the series started. I actually fried a cheap brick once, so im picky now! Here's what I recommend:
- Samsung 45W USB-C Power Adapter: Reliable but kinda bulky.
- Anker 713 Charger (Nano II 45W): Tiny GaN tech, better for travel. Both hit SFC 2.0.
Pair with Anker 543 USB-C to USB-C Cable (6ft Bio-Based). Lesson learned: check for PPS or you'll charge at a snails pace!!

> I’m specifically looking for a reliable 45W wall brick that isn’t too bulky Curious about one thing: r u charging just the Fold or a laptop too? PPS is vital cuz it lets the phone talk to the brick to manage heat, but SFC 2.0 actually requires a 5A-rated cable. Most 10ft ones are only 3A, limiting u to 25W. I’d grab the Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W GaN Wall Charger and a Baseus 100W USB C to USB C Cable 10ft for a solid setup!

Ive been using foldables since the original and honestly, I think people focus way too much on that 45W peak. In my experience, the charging curve drops off so fast that you're only hitting top speeds for a few minutes before it tapers down. I've tried many chargers over the years and usually just grab whatever high-quality GaN block is nearby because convenience beats a 5-minute time difference.

  • High-wattage 5A cables are usually way too thick and stiff for comfortable couch use.
  • Charging while using that massive inner screen generates a ton of heat, which throttles the speed anyway.
  • Multi-port chargers are a better investment if you have other gear to top up. I think I read somewhere that the Fold actually caps the speed way lower if the display is active to protect the battery. Iirc, you might not even see those maximum speeds if you're multitasking while plugged in, tho I could be wrong about the exact wattage. It just feels like a waste to hunt for the perfect brick when the phone's software is doing its own thing to manage heat.

Im in the same boat right now. Just got my Fold 7 and realized my old setup is basically useless for the speeds this thing can actually handle. Its a mess trying to filter through all the random brands on Amazon that claim fast charging but dont actually support the PPS protocols Samsung uses. Quick performance tip: Check the fine print on the charger for PPS 4.05A or higher. If the brick doesnt hit that specific amp rating at the right voltage, you wont see the Super Fast Charging 2.0 text on your lock screen. I've been looking at the Satechi 100W USB-C GaN Compact Charger to handle my phone and laptop at once. For a long cord, the Nekteck 100W USB C to USB C Cable 10ft is one of the few 5A rated ones that doesnt feel like a stiff wire.

Story time: I tried the Ugreen Nexode 45W GaN Charger but unfortunately it wouldnt trigger SFC 2.0 with 10ft cords. ngl, basically any cable over 6ft loses too much voltage for 45W speeds.

Did this last week, worked perfectly

Ive been through a lot of chargers over the years and the biggest thing people miss is the cable rating. For the Z Fold 7 to actually hit 45W, you need a cable with a 5A E-Marker chip. Most cheap long cables only support 3A, which will bottleneck you at 25W regardless of the brick. I personally swear by the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 45W Dual USB-C GaN Wall Charger. Its super compact and Belkin has a really good reputation for safety standards. It supports PPS perfectly so you get the full Super Fast Charging 2.0 speeds without any issues. For a long cable that actually works at full speed:

  • Cable Matters 100W USB C Cable 10 ft
  • Satechi USB-C to USB-C 100W Charging Cable 6.5ft The Cable Matters one is basically the gold standard for long, high-wattage cables. Its a bit thick but thats because of the heavy-duty shielding needed for those speeds. GaN tech is 100% worth it btw, it keeps the heat down which is huge for preserving that expensive Fold battery in the long run.

> I’m specifically looking for a reliable 45W wall brick Honestly, I obsessed over PPS specs until I finally grabbed the Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W GaN Wall Charger and Baseus 100W USB-C to USB-C Cable 10ft for my couch... literally life-changing!
