I'm planning to pick up the new Samsung Galaxy A56 5G soon, but I noticed it doesn't come with a power brick in the box anymore. Since I’m coming from an older device with a slow 10W plug, I really want to take advantage of the A56's faster charging speeds. I believe it supports up to 25W, but I'm curious if anyone has tried using a 45W PPS charger and if it actually makes a difference? I'm looking for something reliable that won't overheat the battery. Should I just stick with the official Samsung adapter, or are brands like Anker or UGREEN just as good for this specific model? What are you guys using to get the fastest top-up times?

yo, catching up on this thread today and honestly, i feel u on the 10W struggle. jumping from that to 25W is gonna feel like a massive upgrade regardless of what brick u pick up. basically, the first reply is totally right—the A56 hardware is capped at 25W, so a 45W charger wont actually charge it faster, but it doesnt hurt to have one if u wanna future-proof for a laptop or a tablet later on.

There's a great resource at GSMArena or the Samsung Community forums where people deep-dive into PPS (Programmable Power Supply) specs. basically, for these phones to hit that 25W peak, the charger MUST support PPS. if it doesnt, it might default to 15W or even 10W even if the brick says "65W" on the side... kinda annoying i know.

Since u mentioned brands like Anker or UGREEN, i've had really solid luck with these:

- UGREEN Nexode 30W USB C GaN Charger - super tiny and supports the PPS protocol perfectly for Samsung's super fast charging.
- Anker 511 Charger Nano 3 30W - i use this for my travel kit. it's basically the size of a grape and handles the heat way better than the old school bricks.
- Baseus Adaman Power Bank 65W 20000mAh - if u ever need juice on the go, this one actually displays the voltage/current so u can see it hitting that 25W target.

pro tip: check the cable too!! if ur using the old cable from your 10W plug, it might bottle neck things. stick with the one that comes in the A56 box or get a Anker 543 USB-C to USB-C Cable Bio-Braided 140W. anyway, hope that helps u out, good luck with the new phone!! 👍

yo! Just found this thread and honestly, coming from 10W is gonna be a total revelation for you lol. I remember when I was super obsessed with finding the "fastest" brick possible for my A-series, thinking more watts always equals more speed, but the hardware controller is the real boss here.

So, for your situation, I would suggest sticking to a high-quality 25W or 30W PPS-enabled brick. You asked about the 45W ones, and technically they work fine because of the PD handshake, but the A56 literally won't pull more than 25W. You're basically paying for headroom you'll never use. Plus, the key to battery health is the PPS (Programmable Power Supply) protocol—it lets the phone talk to the charger to adjust voltage in tiny increments, which keeps the heat way down.

Here's what I recommend based on some testing I've done with GaN tech (which runs cooler than standard silicone):

1. UGREEN Nexode 30W USB C GaN Charger
- Pros: Uses GaN (Gallium Nitride) which is way more efficient and stays reallyyy cool during the peak charging phase. It's also tiny.
- Cons: A bit more expensive than a basic non-GaN plug, but the safety for the battery is worth it imo.

2. Belkin BoostCharge 25W USB-C PD 3.0 PPS Wall Charger
- Pros: Belkin is basically the gold standard for safety certifications. Very stable voltage delivery.
- Cons: The design is a bit chunkier than the newer GaN options.

3. Anker 711 Charger Nano II 30W
- Pros: Has ActiveShield 2.0 which monitors temps like millions of times a day. Super safe for overnight charging.
- Cons: It's technically more power than the A56 needs, but it's so small it doesn't really matter.

In my experience, as long as the box says "PPS" you're good. I've been super happy with the UGREEN Nexode 30W USB C GaN Charger because it doesnt get hot at all even when fast charging from 0%. gl with the new phone!! 👍

Honestly, just stick with the Samsung 25W USB-C Wall Charger and play it safe. I've tested a 45W PPS brick with the A series and it literally makes zero difference because the phone's hardware caps it at 25W anyway. Using the official plug ensures you won't deal with weird overheating issues. If you really want a solid alternative tho, the Anker 312 Charger Ace 25W is pretty reliable and compact. Definitely wouldnt waste money on 45W for this specific model!

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, ngl I tried using a super beefy 65W laptop brick I had lying around just to see... and it literally charged at the same speed as my 25W one. Total waste of power haha. Save your cash and grab a basic 25W PPS plug, it's way more budget-friendly and gets the job done perfectly without heating up the phone.

Jumping in here. Basically, the A56 uses the PPS (Programmable Power Supply) protocol to hit that 25W peak. If the brick doesnt support PPS specifically, it wont matter if the label says 45W or 100W, the phone will just throttle down to a slower speed. Tbh, the technical standard is what matters more than the brand name. A couple questions to help narrow it down:

  • Are you looking for a single-port plug for just the phone, or do you need something with multiple ports for other gear?
  • Whats your budget like for this? Also, make sure you actually have a proper C-to-C cable. People usually overlook the cable, but if it isnt rated for the right current, you wont get the top speeds anyway.
