Hey everyone! I just upgraded to the S24 Ultra and I’m absolutely loving the screen, but I find the built-in S Pen a bit too thin for long note-taking or sketching sessions. I’m on the hunt for a solid case and stylus combo that works seamlessly together. I’m particularly worried about getting a case that causes magnetic interference with the S Pen's accuracy—I've heard some MagSafe options can be tricky. Does anyone have a recommendation for a more ergonomic stylus that pairs well with a specific protective case? I’d prefer something that offers great grip without being overly bulky. What setups are you all using to maximize the stylus experience?

In my experience, you gotta be careful with those MagSafe cases... they really mess with accuracy. For your situation, I would suggest Samsung S Pen Pro over the Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo. The Pro is better for features, but the Staedtler is SO comfortable for long sketching sessions. To play it safe, I use Spigen Tough Armor for Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s sturdy and won't mess with your sensor. Worth it tho!!

In my experience, you're highkey right to be paranoid about the magnets. I stumbled upon this thread and seriously, those 'dead spots' are a total nightmare for anyone doing precision sketching or notes. As someone who looks at EMR (Electro-Magnetic Resonance) specs way too often, I always take a safety-first approach with my gear. If you want a setup that's actually reliable and wont mess with your screen's long-term health, here is what I recommend: * **The Stylus:** Check out the Lamy AL-star EMR Stylus Black. It’s literally shaped like a premium fountain pen, so the ergonomics are miles ahead of the built-in toothpick S Pen. It uses the same Wacom tech, so it works perfectly without a battery and feels sooo much more natural for long sessions.
* **The Case:** I'd pair it with the OtterBox Symmetry Series Case for Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s kinda basic compared to the MagSafe stuff, but it’s built like a tank and has ZERO internal magnets. This is the safest way to ensure your S Pen stays 100% accurate across the entire display. Another solid alternative for a pen is the Wacom One Pen CP91300B2Z. It’s super lightweight and is basically the industry standard for digital artists. Anyway, lesson learned: dont sacrifice your $1,300 phone's digitizer health for a magnetic accessory. Stick to a high-quality non-magnetic shell and a dedicated EMR pen. Your hand (and your screen) will thank you. gl! 👍

Sooo, I'd actually suggest a different approach—especially since you just dropped a bunch of money on the phone itself!! Basically, these screens use EMR tech, which is why magnets are such a nightmare. They literally pull the signal away from where you're touching. It's so annoying... I've been through so many setups over the years trying to find the "perfect" balance without dead spots. But honestly, before you buy a super expensive stylus like the ones people already talked about, have you looked into getting a simple silicone sleeve or a generic "jumbo" grip for the pen you already have? You can find them for like a few bucks online and they make the thin pen feel way more like a real pencil. Plus, it saves you a ton of money! It's a great hack while you're still figuring out what you like. I'm curious tho, are you mainly doing this at a desk or on the go? And what's your budget looking like for the whole setup?? I've learned the hard way that you don't always need the fanciest gear. Sometimes just a basic case from a well-known brand works best as long as you avoid the magnetic rings. Seriously, it makes such a huge difference for sketching!! Anyway, I'm super hyped for you to get started, the screen is literally gorgeous. gl!

So I went through this last year when I started doing more digital art on this device. Honestly, the magnetic interference thing is HUGE if youre a perfectionist about line accuracy. I tried a few MagSafe cases but basically had to ditch them because of the 'dead spots' near the magnet ring—it drove me crazy lol. Basically, magnets mess with the inductive loop of the EMR digitizer. In my experience, you gotta prioritize the sensors health. I ended up with this setup: * Lamy Al-Star Black EMR Stylus: A total game changer for about $45. It has a classic fountain pen grip thats way more ergonomic than the twig-like stock pen.
* Ringke Fusion-X Case: I swapped to this (around $15) because its rugged without the magnets. The side grip is actually top-tier. Finding a stylus that fits your hand makes a massive difference for long sessions. gl! 👍

TL;DR: Instead of buying a pro stylus, I just used a cheap silicone grip on what I already had and modified my case to remove the magnets. Way cheaper and fixes the thinness issue! Honestly, I totally agree with the point about the magnets ruining the vibe—I actually had to return a case last week because of those dead spots. Since I’m still pretty new to the S24 Ultra, I didnt want to drop a ton of cash on those fancy pens everyone is recommending just yet. I ended up going the DIY route. I found some old silicone pencil grips in a drawer and basically forced one onto the stylus I already had. It makes it way thicker and easier to hold for long sessions, and cost me basically nothing. I also got a bit brave and used a small tool to pop the magnetic ring out of the back of my current case since I dont use those accessories anyway. It was a bit of a hack job, but it totally fixed the interference issues without me having to buy a whole new setup. Its not the prettiest solution, but for a beginner like me, it works great! Has anyone else tried just modding their current stuff instead of buying new gear?
