I just got my S23 Ultra and those five lenses look so exposed! I'm really worried about scratches, but I don't want to ruin the amazing photo quality or deal with lens flare. Does anyone have recommendations for protectors that fit well with cases? Which brands actually stay on and keep the images sharp?
Sooo, I totally feel u on this. Those S23 Ultra lenses are basically magnets for scratches, right? Basically, the main issue with protectors is "ghosting" or lens flare. If the glass isn't high quality, your $1200 phone starts taking mediocre pics because of light refraction. Plus, some thick covers wont fit if ur using a tight case.
In my experience, I would suggest individual ring protectors. They sit flush and look way more natural than a big slab of plastic. Here is what I recommend:
* Spigen EZ Fit Optik Pro Lens Protector for Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra - These are a solid option. The kit has a tray so they line up perfectly. They're a bit pricier, but they actually stay on for the long haul.
* ESR Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Camera Lens Protectors - A decent option if ur looking to save a few bucks. It depends on your needs, but these work fine for basic scratch protection.
Honestly, its a balanced trade-off. You might get a tiny bit of flare in direct sunlight, but it beats a permanent scratch on the sensor glass... right? Just make sure they're clean before sticking 'em on. gl!
Coming back to this... honestly, I've been a Galaxy power user since the S4 days, so I've seen it all... and let me tell ya, scratching those lenses is basically a nightmare scenario!! I learned that the hard way with my old Note. For the S23 Ultra, I prioritize safety and long-term reliability above everything else.
For your situation, I would suggest going with individual ring protectors rather than one big slab of glass. It keeps the image sharper and fits way better with cases. Here's what I recommend:
* Ringke Camera Styling for Galaxy S23 Ultra - These are high-grade metal rings that add a physical lip. Super durable and looks sleek.
* Whitestone Dome EZ Camera Protector for Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra - NGL, their glass quality is top-tier so u wont get that annoying flare.
* WSKEN Camera Lens Protector for Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra - Reallyyy good seal to keep dust out.
Lesson learned? Always double-check "case clearance." If the rings are too wide, ur case will just pop them off. Safety first!! gl!
Before I give full advice, what case are u rocking right now? Case clearance is the biggest technical hurdle for these. tbh I'm super happy with the ESR Camera Lens Protector for S23 Ultra cuz it has high light transmittance that doesnt mess with ur exposure. The Spigen Optik P. Camera Lens Protector for S23 Ultra is also solid and super precise. Both keep things sharp!! peace
Any updates on this?
Honestly, I’m pretty paranoid about the glass getting dinged. Like, one bad drop and that’s it. I thought about taking the phone to a shop to have them apply something, but it's actually pretty easy to do a DIY install if you have steady hands. I’m not 100% sure if the high-end ones are truly better, but the self-service kits are usually fine for basic safety. Just a few things to keep in mind:
* Go with amFilm, you basically can't go wrong with their install kits.
* Look for anything that comes with an alignment frame. Makes it way easier.
* Maybe check out some skins from dbrand to protect the metal parts around the lenses. Tbh, the hardest part is just making sure the room is clean so you don't trap lint. It’s basically a one-shot deal. I always feel a bit nervous doing it myself, but it saves a lot of money compared to a pro service. Just gotta be patient with it.
Bookmarked, thanks!
